    I hope the upgrade kit comes with a transparent Blu-Ray logo sticker or something. The Mac Mini image with it above looks kinda cool.

    I get it when you say "no native OS X support," but what about third-party software? Doesn't Windows boxes still need something like CyberLink PowerDVD 9 to play Blu-Ray movies, or does WMP do it? #macminibluraykit

    @BeyondtheTech: There's a certain amount of operating system support that's required, in addition to normal player software (like PowerDVD), which OS X lacks. OS X can read Blu-Ray data disks, but not the encrypted Blu-Ray video disks. So no third party support for blu-ray either. #macminibluraykit

    Perhaps it will rely on software decoding, like the DVD drives did in the G3/G4 series? It's why those Macs could have a movie playing as the desktop background image. #macminibluraykit
