    i will download this app and listen to some songs. i will then report back here to share with everyone what i think. it is only my opinion that is important so any posts after this one are moot. except for the post i will post after this one which will be my review of slacker radio. brb. #android

    @Nick: so far it looks great. behaves well. only complaint so far is that the app stops playing when my screen turns off and phone will go into sleep mode. you can set Slacker to keep the screen on, but i would like the screen off and Slacker to keep playing. oh, and my other complaint is that Dane Cook was playing on the comedy top station. DANE COOK SUCKS #android

    I will probably buy this in June when I get a Droid. I refuse to pay 550.00 for a droid or 450.oo for the eris so I'll wait until my contract is up in June. #android

    @Crazy_Talk: It's just referring to the free, ad-supported accounts vs. the paid, more customizable, ad-free subscription accounts (which are well worth the $47.88/yr). Slacker is SO much better than the wasteland that XM/Sirius has become.

    @dingus: Well i agree the resistive does suck greatly, but as a cheap phone that can get many more people into a begging android i am all for it. I won't buy one, most of the tech community won't, but the average person isn't going to know the difference and get to experience android for next to nothing.

    Some people mentioned an iphone client in the comments, the point is an official app from google, which of course will beat any other app currently out by anyone else.

    I'm more surprised that Google made no indication that they will eventually have a app for S60 or WM.



    Although they are losing ground, S60 still makes up more than 40% of all the smartphones in the world, and WM still has a decent following as well. So that's more the 1/2 the smartphones in world that they have no plans to ever support? Odd.



    I guess they are assuming that Android, BB, and iphone will make up more than 50% within the next year or two, and that S60 and WM will be irrelevant. Possible, but not likely. Nokia and Microsoft have too much money to let these OS's completely die.

    @pantsonfireliarliar: You'd be remiss if you didn't explain how your "brand new" iPhone JUST "got video recording". As far as I know, iPhone 3GS (the phone you're implying by "brand new") has had video recording since day one. No other iPhone has it, so I fail to understand the use of the word "finally".     @OMG! TenderRonis!: you know, this is just a sign of the apocalypse. i understood letting machines do our menial chores for us, like monitoring vital systems over the globe, but when we start making machines do core functions in our stead, e.g. farting, that's when i fear for our inevitable demise.

    I still haven't figured out what "app stores" means yet, so talking about even more of them is bound to confuse me even further. I'll have my five year old explain it to me on non-fancy words that I can understand, like "stuff" and, well, "other stuff".


    Seriously, though, you are peering over the edge of a slippery slope. Some might question why we do not cover software for all electronic gadgets - which would include just about every store on this vast communication portal we call the inter-tubes, and the more stores on the list, the more their argument makes sense when you have drunk a fifth of Southern Comfort. Don't give in to them! Just hide behind the tired old apple-fanboi excuse and give 'em a middle finger salute.


    Or, alternatively - I kinda do look forward to reading about how the other "half" of app stores live, so - carry on.
