It wraps both cords (plug end and MagSafe end) around the orange gadget.

The thing was designed by the Quirky.com community and the team of designers will share part of the profits - which can't be much since the plastic object of awesomeness is only $7.25. I'm sure the payoff for those talented product influencers is the warming of their hearts when they know they are keeping the laptop bags of the world more organized. For this, I thank you people of Quirky.

But I stray, the PowerCurl also keeps the charging brick from getting hot since it elevates the adapter off the ground for better air circulation. There is one for the 60W and 85W chargers. This thing makes me want an orange mocha frappuccino. Oh and a new Macbook Pro. [Quirky]

<![CDATA[Intel Quad-Core Laptop Processors Inevitably Headed to MacBook Pros in the Third Quarter]]> Intel is launching their Calpella quad-core notebook chips in the third quarter, according to DigiTimes' sources. Knowing that Apple always nicks their chips first, we probably can expect new MacBook Pros around that timeframe.

There will be three chips, successors to the CPUs in high end notebooks today: Core 2 Quad P1 (1.6GHz priced at $364 with 6MB cache,) Core 2 Quad P2 (1.73GHz at $536 with 8MB cache,) and the Core 2 Extreme XE (running at 2GHz with 8MB cache and a whopping $1,054 price tag.)

Don't hold your purchases for that, though. According to AppleInsider, there could be another refresh to the current Montevina platform, with higher speeds and price cuts "as early as this spring if it so chooses." But then again, Steve Jobs may appear naked and throwing iPhone 3.0s while dancing to Wagner's Die Valkyrie in the next WWDC as well. If he so chooses. [Apple Insider]

<![CDATA[All the New Macbook Pro HDDs Are All Perpendicular]]> Bonus: All the new Macbook Pro HDDs, in every size, are now perpendicular drives.

Only a few drives in the custom order builds were perpendicular in the old Macbook Pro. What's that mean? Better data density and performance. Want to know more? Watch this awesome cartoon.

<![CDATA[Guide to Replacing Your MacBook Pro's Hard Drive]]> Aside from the obvious storage bump, there are plenty of reasons why you'd wanna upgrade your MacBook Pro's hard drive. The guys at ExtremeTech have come up with a hand-holding guide for replacing your MBP's 5,400rpm HDD for a new 7,200rpm drive, which will give you a noticeably faster MBP. There's a lot of unscrewing involved, so you'll need a Phillips-head screwdriver and a T-6 screwdriver before you begin. Like the other HDD upgrade guides we've seen, this one is worth a read, even if you're the queasy type.

<![CDATA[Mac Notebooks Suffering from Stretch Marks, Swollen Batteries?]]> Perhaps this is a sign that we're overdue for some new Mac portables. A very caring MacBook owner recently found unsightly stretch marks along his Mac's derriere, despite pampering it like it was his first-born. Earlier we heard reports of swollen batteries on MacBook Pros—one of them even went up in flames. Sounds like some of them are starting to fall apart. Anyone out there experiencing similar troubles?

<![CDATA[MacBook Pro Takes a Cap for its Owner, Still Boots Up]]> Can't afford to splurge on a Halliburton case for your shiny MacBook Pro? Turns out you may not have to. This Brasilian MacBook Pro over here took a bullet that was intended for its owner over the weekend during a mugging gone wrong and surprisingly, it still worked after being shot. So either that was a crap gun they used or the MacBook Pro is one tough lappie that doesn't need babying.

<![CDATA[$1 Million Worth in MacBook Pros]]>
Ever wonder what it feels like to get an order of 500 MacBook Pros? Well, the lucky kids at Full Sail School in Florida will soon find out as that shipment you see arriving in the truck is their order. Assuming they all got the entry-level MBP, that's about $999,500 worth in MacBook Pros (let's hope they got the education discount). I've been wanting to upgrade to a MacBook Pro for awhile now and I can honestly say this video gives me the shakes.

<![CDATA[Ultraportable MacBook Specs Leaked?]]> Looks like the rumors surrounding that 12-inch MacBook Pro we spoke of earlier are starting to beef up. The gang at Mac OS Rumors is convinced Apple is working on a MacBook "Thin" and have listed all the specs they got from their "trusted sources in Cupertino and Southeast Asia." Apple may be working on an ultraportable, but we call BS on this "leak." Here's why.

First of all, look at these specs.

-2.16 or 2.33GHz Core 2 Duo
-1GB RAM (3GB max)
-ATI Radeon Mobility X1600 or Nvidia Go 7600
-8-hour battery life
Apple fanboys may wanna believe that's possible, but fitting all of that in a chassis that's supposed to be thinner than the current MBP? Keep dreaming. Compare that to the MacBook (which has integrated graphics and tops out at 2GHz) and you'll realize those specs are way too high to be real. As much as I'd love a thinner MacBook Pro for the holidays, this is beyond wishful thinking.

<![CDATA[MacBook Pros Temporarily Halted by Apple?]]> French Mac site Le Macbidouille is reporting that Apple has temporarily halted orders on its 15-inch Core 2 Duo MacBook Pros. Apparently users are complaining of excessive graininess on the display of the non-glossy models. The online Apple Store has a 1- to 2-day delay on both 15-inch models (the 17-inch ships in 24 hours), but the reason for that could be anyone's guess. Anybody out there experiencing similar problems either getting a 15-inch or with their MacBook Pro's display?
