In-car satellite TV never made sense - why waste $1300 and $20-30 a month on something you ever only use at most 30-40 minutes a day - and then only on maybe one or two days a month?
The driver doesn't benefit from the system - they can't watch the TV either way and there's no programming FOR adults (it's all cartoons - and crappy ones at that).
Only way in-vehicle satellite TV works is if you're going cross-country in an RV. And then I'd just stick with a prepaid DishNow system or else just use free-to-air (and accompanying hacks to get onto Dish). Or if I were smart, I'd stray towards RV parks with free WiFi and just Hulu all the shows I want to see when traveling. #gizmodoremainders
There's a similar situation with a town listed as "Ioka, IA" near where I live. It's on Google maps, but there is literally one house there. #gizmodoremainders
Though I feel that the likelihood is slim to none, I'll keep my fingers crossed for a 64GB iPod touch. Though the camera would face accusations of being a gimmick (and I'd agree), I admit that I'd certainly use it all the time, since my iPod is practically attached to my hip.
@Cyfer911: I'd actually prefer if the touch had a bit more heft to it, maybe to support a larger battery. As it is, the touch is too thin for me to use without a case, especially since its tapered edges and slippery metal back make it seem like I'm holding a bit soap sliver.
@Hackintosh: I actually skipped out on the first gen touch because it seemed to be sorely lacking compared to the iPhone. The glaring omissions of the design were a huge turnoff, and I was so glad to wait. Despite the niggles I have with my iPod, I could never go back to the older touch.
@pellier: I was going to make up a story about how a friend tried to hook his zune up to my portable stereo with a dock connector, or one to my car stereo with a dock connector... but then realized I don't know a single person with a Zune...
@Xeno: I have a pair of etymotic er 6i's and er-4p's and I can not tell the difference in those between different players, so no, I don't really care that much.
OK Apple, I'm going to need a new Ipod soon, but I need a REAL ipod not another crappy ipod with fancy features and no disc space. Its been like two years, either refresh the classic line or I'm going to start looking for other options.
@iameleveneight: My prediction is that there will be no more iPod Classic. Apple's said themselves that all the growth is coming from the Touch, the other iPods are trending downwards. And Apple is never one to wait until a move becomes obvious - they kill stuff left and right at the first sign of trouble. Look at the iPod Mini, which at that time was the #1 selling iPod.
I have a Classic and bought it on purpose for the disc space and the wheel, but Apple's just gone gaga over touchscreens lately. I personally hate them.
