I really like what their doing with the service areas in new stores. Designating a whole floor, out of view of the rest of the store, is an excellent idea, especially for the genius bar.
It's been a major flaw in their retail stores design. You have all these amazing computers and gadgets to look at and play with, and then at the back of the store, you have people getting them fixed. Not the vibe I'm sure there going for. #applestore

@RADEN: I dunno. Spending time in a nicely designed store can add to the experience. When I was a kid there was a high-end audio store in town...Threshold, B&O, McIntosh, B&W, etc. Entering the shop was like entering a temple: dark, subdued lighting, with ceiling spots picking out the expensive glowing components. It was a bit like being in an Egyptian museum with rare finds on display. 'Course, I couldn't afford any of it then, but that didn't stop me from visiting whenever I could. Sometimes the environment alone makes it worthwhile. #applestore

The window washers in the first photo are just the morning shift. Fully-staffed, the store has a crew of about ten people who consistently wipe down the windows every half hour. No breaks are possible. #applestore
