As expected. They'll be back soon, like always. I sense a ~~strong~~ weak disturbance in the Force. Maybe updated MacBooks or iPhones or USB-powered cocktail shakers. Or something like that. Update: It's the iPhone 16GB and iPod Touch 32GB.

AppleStore is Down Now, Expect One More Thing

While everyone is following up His Steveness as he booms everyone with Leopard, the AppleStore is now down. Could this mean new hardware? Holographic displays for the new "holograph" mode in iChat? Magic teleporter with polarity inverter? Ninja sex-bots at last? We can only hope.

It may be just be pre-orders for Leopard, who knows. In any case, we will see really soon now. –Jesus Diaz

Update: The keynote is finished with no new hardware. The AppleStore is still down, so it's probably just for Leopard pre-orders.

Update 2: It's up. Changes? Yes: new Leopard look for the store and the whole Apple site.

AppleStore is Down, Updating Now

Apparently the rumors may be true and you should expect new Apple stuff today. At least, the AppleStore is down throughout the world. On a Tuesday, that means new products and given the recent avalanche of new Centrino Duo laptops, we can probably expect Santa Rosa-equipped MacBook and MacBook Pro models.

While we don't think the new MacBooks are going to be a major update in terms of design (no doubt His Steveness would present that in a special event or at WWDC) we will keep our eyes peeled and our Web browsers refreshing (or at least I will, like the Apple fanboy I am.) – Jesus Diaz

UPDATE: at 9:50 EST the AppleStore is still down three hours later, but only new MacBooks have been announced. Could this mean more is coming? Your opinion after the jump.

UPDATE 2: Store is up now. Nothing new, just the sightly updated MacBooks. Smleh.
