Armani Calyx Disappearing Kitchen

There's nothing worse than walking in your kitchen only to see your stupid sink, cabinets and countertops. Amiright?

Armani's Calyx (yes, that Armani) is a kitchen outfitted with decadent wood veneers, glass and woven metal...all of which are masked behind floor-to-ceiling doors. Armani calls the effect a "discreet environment." I'd call it a cold and soul-sucking hospital room.

Besides, I'd over-stuff that kitchen like a WASP's linen closet. There would be no end to the bright orange corners of Cheetos bags making their way through the door cracks, Man's subconscious urge for untamed wilderness playing out in a quiet protest. [WIDN and SaukValley via BornRich]

Samsung's Armani 2 Night Effect Cellphone Forgets to Include Stylishness

Samsung's original Armani phone was a tiny, touchscreen, haptic-feedback gizmo, and actually not bad looking at all: so I'm confused about the upcoming Armani 2 Night Effect. It's a plain candybar cellphone, emblazoned with large Emporio Armani emblems and it seems to have totally forgone attempts at simple stylishness. Get this—around the edge of the phone there's a red, green or blue-LED glowing strip, presumably the "night effect" part. Maybe it's my impression of what style is, but that's just tacky. The specs of the phone aren't too amazing either.

• 3.2 megapixel camera, without flash
• Built-in FM Radio
• Dedicated music player control buttons
• 120 MB of User Memory
• microSD memory card slot

Yup...120 megabytes of on-board memory, and we don't know what sort of UI it's got: is the haptic feedback still there?

It does look like it's got a front-facing camera for 3G video calling at least, and I suppose the black metallic finish is quite interesting. The OLED screen should be good-looking too, but all in all the phone itself is a bit plain. It's due in Europe for around $430 (€300) in November with Asian and Middle East releases shortly after, but there's no word on pricing or timing for a North American version. Samsung and Armani Launch HDTVs That Look... Like Every Other HDTV

The Samsung/Armani design train keeps rolling, now from cellphones to HDTVs. Today in Milan, Sammy and Giorgio showed off the first Armani LCD TVs—a 46-incher and a 52-inch model. Both are 100Hz "Full HD" sets (hopefully that means 1080p, not 1080i), and will strut their stuff in Europe, Korea and Russia this summer. The fashionable part is apparently the customizable the Samsung and Armani logos. Ooooo... Oh, and it's got two remotes, a mini-pebble for basic functions, and a swankier one that does everything, but we don't have any pics of 'em yet. No price, but it's probably stupid ~~expensive~~. TAG Heuer Set to Develop Luxury Cellphone Line: Does Tiger Woods Need More Money?

According to the folks at Electronista, fancy-pants watchmaker TAG Heuer will team up with the French designers at Modelabs to develop a new line of luxury cellphones. The news follows closely on the heels of other fashion icons like Armani and Prada entering the phone biz, but there is no word yet on how the Tag Heuer phone would compare to those offerings in terms of specifications.

As for the design, the cellphones are expected to be as as "contemporary," "technological" and "timeless" as their watches. Naturally, there is no word yet on any type of advertising campaign, but my guess is that somehow Tiger Woods will find a way to make even more money whoring it out to the masses. Official Launch of Samsung's ArmaniPhone in Milan

It's not the first time we've seen Samsung's Armani phone, but its official unveiling happened in Milan yesterday, following Giorgio's runway show. The credit-card-sized phone is 10.5 mm wide, has haptic feedback and will be on sale in Europe from November. An Armani-Samsung Casa LCD TV is to follow in January. Armani and Samsung Team Up to Create a New Touchscreen Fashion Phone

Samsung and Armani have teamed up to create this fashion-y phone, the P520, Armani's answer to the Prada Phone. It's a relatively sleek touchscreen phone with a 2.6-inch screen, a 3MP camera, a microSD slot, 50MB of onboard memory, a pokey GMS/EDGE connection, and Wi-Fi. Cool? This neutered iPhone is set to drop in Europe for a far-from-reasonable $550. No word on it coming from the States, but I will say that it's nice to see an Armani product that isn't in an advertisement with a dude with abs that make me feel completely inadequate.
