    I'm sorry to inform you, but that's the standard factory cooler for 4870+ cards. It just has a fancy sticker applied to it, but functionally it's the same damn cooler.

    i used to always buy BFG cause they would OC their cards and the warranty was great. this new ATI card makes me want to build a new box.

    How long does it last? Every video card I've ever had as melted it's death due to faulty fans. Nvidea and ATI. My cases are cooled well and I keep at least two empty PCI slots open beside the video card.

    @RyaninCalgary: Interesting. I've been building PCs for 20 years, and have yet to ever melt a GPU. Just because you have a lot of fans in your case, doesn't mean you have good airflow.


    Currently I'm running a 4870, q6700 quad core c2d, 8 gig ram, and a raptor drive in a case. I have had 0 thermal problems even when running the card flat hour for 16 hours straight.

    Is that an S-Video output I see there? Perhaps I'm ignorant to such things, but why would someone who needs this graphics card need an S-Video output?

    @ceilingFANBOY: I agree. IMO all cards should now just have 2 DVIs and perhaps 2 HDMIs. At least one HDMI.

    @ceilingFANBOY: The card comes with a DVI to HDMI adaptor. You can also get DVI to HDMI cables.


    It's really not a big deal.
