...our enthusiasm is dampered (sic) by the fact that this is based on familiar, unexciting tech; the Z series "Silverthorn" processors may be power-thrifty and capable, but their architecture hasn't changed much with the new processors. A speed bump and the addition of hyperthreading are appreciated, but these marginal boosts won't be game changers.

I expect evolutionary developments such as this, but I don't see the need to re-design the platform for every iteration that comes out.

They aren't going to make sweeping changes because they don't need to yet.

The Atom platform has proven itself in the market and they are simply going about milking it as they do with their other platforms.

Biz as usual for Intel.

Most tech bloggers don't seem to have any enthusiasm for the Atom platform anyway as they don't seem to get it.

The market seems to though.
