so i pre-ordered from apple and got a confirmation message that thanked me for the reservation and told me to come by on Friday 19 June

there is, however, fine print that reads:
*Your reservation is valid until close of business on Friday, June 19, 2009. Reservation does not guarantee iPhone availability at an Apple Retail Store. iPhone is sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

which sounds a lot like 'come early enough on friday or your reservation will expire and you will be kicked to the back of the line.' what the hell does a reservation mean if it doesn't guarantee availability?

@selianth: it could be worse. they could handle it like gamestop and only give merchandise to people with a reservation even though they have plenty of extras.

I'm in the same boat with AT&T preorders. I ordered on 6/11, and as of now it still hasn't shipped.

I spoke with someone in shipping at AT&T, and she told me that it will most likely be shipped tomorrow, to arrive on Monday/Tuesday. So much for the overnight shipping.

She also said it doesn't say it is backordered, even though the first person I spoke with said it is. Who the fuck knows, they don't have their shit together.

From everything I've read online, those who ordered via attwireless.com are the ones who are least likely to receive a phone tomorrow. I myself ordered via attwireless.com on 6/10 with full confirmation of order and number port...only to later see that they changed my order date to 6/15. the automated message still says "will be processed in the next business day" - it has said this now for 4 days. Others who ordered online who have received shipping notifications are set for 6/22.

Those who ordered from Apple seem to be guaranteed delivery by tomorrow - and mostly they have tracking info.

Those who ordered in-store (I wish I had done this) through 6/13 should have a phone waiting for them at 7 am tomorrow.

Moral: don't pre-order from the online site. Their shit is definitely NOT together. I have spoken to maybe 9-10 reps, including exec. customer service, and they ALL have different, conflicting information.

@bilups: Mine says the same thing. I keep updating to see the page but it still has no tracking number. I ordered it on the 9th. From what I gather it has to do with them holding it until they ship it sometime today HOPEFULLY. I for one took off tomorrow and I hope to GOD my 3GS comes.

@bilups: Don't worry, I ordered from apple.com and just got my shipment notice. I'm not getting it till Monday either. So much for "Delivers by June 19."

Oh and I like to hope to the Goddess Rainbow Bright and her trusty steed, My Little Pony.

I pre ordered from at&t on the 11th, and still haven't seen my shipping email. I got 2 emails that said the order went through, and that it should be shipped by the 19th.
