Perhaps you guys should look at augmenting the audio sense also.
Play it again Sam Echochops can delay audio fed into your headphones. It can increase volume also. Ever go through the day and want to hear something a second time, well this is one of the apps for that. It's a little weird going through the world with a .1 to 10 second delay in audio, but it's amazing how much one catches when one listens to audio a second time, delayed slightly.
I'd argue that RJDJ might fall into the augmented reality category, but not as much as Echochops does.
How about seeing sound?Signal Scope falls into the category of augmented reality. It changes audio data into visual data, pricey though. Spectrograph Pro lets one see a real-time audio spectrogram. It's a buck for pro, or the lite version is free. For a little more visual information one might look at Spectrograph, by Pete Schwamb . (I work with audio for a living, so I can understand spectro/sonograms. Seeing sound is fantastic.)
There is a great one for android that I just got as part of the Android Developer's Challenge. It was called DroidSpray (can't seem to find it in the normal store). Basically you would have a layer that you would then spray paint on and create pictures on the wall without actually spary painting the wall.
It was community based so you'd get everyone elses too.
Neat stuff but like most of android's ADC community apps there just isn't enough there yet to really get anything out of it. #augmentedrealityiphoneapps
