    Either I have a super washing machine, or you folks need to replace yours. Washing machines should be somewhat air tights preventing short term mildew buildup. I've kept mine overnight and longer in the wash and they are just fine.

    @Shamoononon has hebetudinous dog ★★★★★: Clothes that stay damp with sweat grow stinky ammonia-smelling yeasty bugs on them. That's what makes gym bags so gross.


    If you don't want to wash your gym stuff, hang them to dry, then they won't stink of anything but good old fashioned sweat. Then wash them when you've got a full load.

    Anything's better than the sounds washing machines make out of the box. It's like they focus-grouped the most annoying sound a machine could produce, chose the sound of an insect being incinerated by an electrical zapper amplified by 100 dB, and then stuck that on every washing machine. And there's no non-warranty-voiding way to turn it off.


    People should be able to download their own washing machine sounds, like ringtones, to replace the sound of amplified bug death that ordinarily announces your clothes are ready. And if that could be replaced by twitter and a wall of LED signs in your living room that flash WASH - WASH - WASH at the conclusion of a cycle, so much the better.


    Actually, I take all that back. A wall of LED signs in your living room flashing WASH - WASH - WASH is just plain weird.

    This is much better than my old method of making a mental note.


    I find it so difficult to reason that if my stuff goes in the washer at 10am and there are 34 minutes on the cycle, that I should take my clothes out around 10:34am.


    Stupid relying on common sense for everyday problems.


    And one more thing. To paraphrase the late Sen. Lloyd Bentsen, "I knew Jesus Diaz. Jesus Diaz was a friend of mine. Mr Nosowitz - you're no Jesus Diaz."
