I truly do not understand the geek obsession with caffeine. I guess if you really fit the stereotype and never exercise then it's the only way to get energy, but... having an obvious addiction to something and being proud of it is just so strange from a group of smart people.

I have the Mophie and LOVE it, it's not hard to take off at all, those are rumors. Mine fits snug and slides off easlily too. I WISH, someone would make a case such as the Mphie that's just thicker instead of taller so it could have a larger capacity battery. The thickness would be much better to tolerate than the height in my opinion. This looks like it's a "snap and break" waiting to happen because it's so tall. And not very pocketable like a thicker one would still be. Not for everyday use probably, but certainly better than almost double the height of this thing. I don't like this one. Love the power, but footprint it too high.

@bmoctta: both the Mophie Air and the Incase have smaller batteries by more than half but make better phone cover/case/protectors, are significantly smaller, form fit/look better and/but cost more....
As the man who got both the Mophie Air AND the Casemate the first week I had my 3Gs, I can't say no to this, not without checking it out. The main problem is taking off the Mophie. I hear it's a real pain.
If I ever see anyone with this, I will laugh in their face and then call all of my friends and tell them about this guy and then my phone will die...ITS IRONY
Pffff I dunno about you, but this is great. If you're using your iPhone as your primary means of entertainment while traveling, it's nice to have something like this so you can watch videos and listen to music for the duration of the trip, and have a full battery when it's time to use it as a phone again when you get where you're going.
@Kaiser-Machead: pfff, i dunno about you, but in this day and age if a child dressed in a monkey costume dancing to bjork isn't your primary means of entertainment, then you should just kill yourself with a juicer. i don't know what any of this means.
@Kaiser-Machead: Fair point. The only time I would use my iPhone as my primary means of entertainment is when I fly. I would rather carry a USB cable to keep my iPhone charged since my laptop is invariably plugged in to a wall at the terminal (and now, increasingly on the flight as well).
@Don Nguyen: Fair enough, though in my case, if my laptop is out, there's not much point to using my handheld for entertainment. On the Greyhound (whenever I used to take it), something like this would've been great.
Shouldn't it be Red to indicate low/no charge, green to say your done, and maybe orange while you are charging?
Just cos thats kinda how things have been for ages, green = go, good, etc
IIRC, we live in a world of thermodynamics. what irks me is that you're not making energy, you're really just transfering your own mechanical energy into that battery. you "burn" calories to crank dat battery and you replace that energy with food!

I do like the way they want to handle getting the batteries into and out of the charger. #renewsolarbatterycharger

At some point, one has to wonder if the perceptual need for increased lasting-power is not simply an attempt at disguising poor form and sloppy usage.

It's design like this that causes half the usability problems when it comes to product design :/

Let's hope these guys don't work on the Mercedes with the auto-stop at traffic lights, what with their 'red means go' mindset and all.
