Unfortunately, it is not just the UK that has toi change/revolt/protest. It is the entire global system. It was once about money, greed would rule the world and make money from the poor. But now it is about more then that, they have ALL THE MONEY, they have all the controll but they want the POWER.
As long as we keep giving away our freedoms with such crap as the fight against terror (which is really only a fight against those you cannot/find it hard to manipulate for your own political reasons) then we will never, as a people, regain controll of our society.
Their was an old saying that an English mans house is his castle, and it was still repeated in 2004 during my training as a police officer ( i quit after 4 years btw ) to make it clear that citizens should be free in their own homes. THAT WILL NOT BE FOR MUCH LONGER!
I know he is a tad outlandish and has a questionable past but David Icke certainly does sum up the situation well in some of his talks.
It will not be long before every street corner has a camera, speed cameras are coverted into ANPR machine (did you know that every trip you make onto a motorway is recorded and logged against you on a police intelligence system via ANPR....forever...FACT...i have used it on many occassions) and stop and search randomly will be back.
Stand up and dont accept this crap guys!

But this shall not stand. HOW DARE YOU, SIR?! How DARE you come in here, into OUR place and spout your verbal diarrhea, clearly knowing not whereof you speak, at one of MY esteemed colleagues? The fact that you waited for the page to load, waited for the comments to load, and then waited to respond with a prime example of why state-supervised homes would only serve as an ineffectual measure in the stemming of ignorance speaks volumes in support of Nutbastard's comment.
You advocate violence against one of Gizmodo's best and brightest? You clearly don't know where you are or how to behave, and that is prime evidence of the deficiencies in your upbringing. I would imagine that your parents would be ashamed of you, but that would require them to have cared enough to steward and guide you in your youth. Clearly they thought it fine for you to behave in any manner that you see fit, and never bothered to instruct you in the ways of proper etiquette.
Rather than suggest that you follow your own advice, and end your wretched existence, instead, I implore you to more carefully guard your words in the future, and learn the rules that we hold true to around here. If you wish to continue having the PRIVILEGE to comment here, it's best you learn now than suffer the consequences of your own thoughtlessness later on down the road.

We know the air is unfit to breathe and our food is unfit to eat. And we sit watching our TVs while some local newscaster tells us that today we had fifteen homicides and sixty-three violent crimes, as if that's the way it's supposed to be!
We all know things are bad -- worse than bad -- they're crazy.
It's like everything everywhere is going crazy, so we don't go out any more. We sit in the house, and slowly the world we're living in is getting smaller, and all we say is, "Please, at least leave us alone in our living rooms. Let me have my toaster and my TV and my steel-belted radials, and I won't say anything. Just leave us alone."
Well, I'm not going to leave you alone.
I want you to get mad!
I don't want you to protest. I don't want you to riot. I don't want you to write to your Congressman, because I wouldn't know what to tell you to write. I don't know what to do about the depression and the inflation and the Russians and the crime in the street.
All I know is that first, you've got to get mad.
You've gotta say, "I'm a human being, goddammit! My life has value!"
So, I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window, open it, and stick your head out and yell, "I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!!"
