If you're gaming at such a level as to need this on your gaming rig, then you shouldn't be spending $130. You should pick up the phone to your sponsor to have them buy it for you.
Do you really think FATAL1TY pays for computer components?
@Software_Goddess: I don't need one, really, but that's never stopped me from buying nifty gadgets!
I have to wonder, though.... when are the designers of these cards going to realize that more than 75% of the systems the cards are going into will have the component side facing down, effectively rendering allof their nifty design work irrelevant!? Especially with Killer's previous NIC and that big, nasty Gothic-style "K" they slapped on it. I'm sure 98% of them went completely unseen after installation and simply made for yet another annoying spot to collect dust and retain heat.
My huge two-slot video card and my sexy little black-clad sound card both have nice looking outfits on, but neither is visible in typical tower configuration even if a window were present.
@BeautifulAgony: Oooo yes, good point. There are few who can appreciate the appeal of sexy components. There is one point you have overlooked. Just knowing that under the smooth shell of my tower rests such beauty, is enough to get my processer heated. Sometimes all it takes is the thought of what lies beneath to get my circuits flowing.
I'd better let this one stop here, since my reply could get me banned, as it contained puns regarding slots, fingers and a little laptop. I'm typically not so "PC," but this is swiftly plunging us into Fleshbot territory... ;)

So this device, in essence, operates much like Firewire, but for networking, right?
