"It's also helped by" is putting it mildly. I think I read on Slashdot that it was 20 seconds with a standard HDD and 10 with SSD. So, like half the story here is that SSDs boot faster?

@Slugicide: Why would that be a surprise? SSDs doesn't have to spin up.

Why are you calling zero crapware and no Aero a non-real-world setup? I don't use Aero on my computer for performance, and I don't see why you would want crapware on your computer.

Now if someone can mod the laptop to self-destruct instead of simply disable...

@citizen024: How would you work on it then? I think a Faraday cage would be simpler, cheaper, and lighter.

@GTgeek: You use the keyboard and mouse to navigate the windows, unless it's running a Linux operating system. Then you must use command line.

@Git Em SteveDave loves this guy->★: I'm aware of that, but you said simpler, cheaper and lighter...wait, I see what we're arguing about, I'm sorry. You said that about the lead case, not about removing the sim card. My mistake.

@GTgeek: It's OK, I just realized that they were posted by the same person. As for the SIM card, I'm sure the computer makers were a little smarter than that, especially since this is a BIOS thing.
