This is one of those head-scratcher products. What in the hell were they thinking? If I want a birdhouse, I'll buy one that looks like a birdhouse, a nice one, something "woodsy" or "birdsy", not a damned Proteus knockoff (bonus points for the first person to get the reference).

And if I want a fake security camera to fool stupid thieves (are there any other type?), then I want it to look like, and only like, a security camera. Jesus, whoever is making this thing, don't be so damned ... wait for it ... it's coming ... bird brained.

@bosskev: But if the bird wants a fake security camera to fool theives, doesn't this serve them a dual purpose in housing them and serving their need/want for a fake security camera?

I'm just saying, you have to see it from the target market's point of view man...

@bosskev: So NOBODY is gonna take a stab at the Proteus reference? (That, or nobody has been reading this story. Whatever.) OK, for the three of you still following, if anyone HAD made the connection, not only would s/he have won the much-in-demand "bosskev bonus points", but s/he would have also had the opportunity to make the worst pun of the day.

Proteus was the evil, sentient computer using CCTV devices to imprison (and eventually impregnate) poor Julie Christie in the movie The Demon Seed. And the worst pun of the day? The perfect model name for this Proteus-meets-birdhouse CCTV would be The Demon Bird Seeder.

Wait! Before you pellet me with fruit, remember how much it costs in Japan.
