Incorrect. On the device, select Options/Mobile Network/Network Mode. It allows 3G, 3G & 2G, and 2G. Selecting 2G forces the device to camp on EDGE.

I've also been using AIM on my Rogers Bold, so I'm not entirely sure what that's all about. Can you not download it from the mobile.blackberry.com site on your device?

@KylaGabulous: You can't on the AT&T one, which AT&T has confirmed. Also, it said AIM didn't support my OS yet.

Actually you can set it to 2G only, by going to Options, Mobile Network, Network Mode: 2G

@thadude: No, you can't. You turn data services on or off, that's it. AT&T PR also confirmed this was the case.

@Poison_Shroom: Yes, they actually improve their hardware and software. The Bold really is the best BlackBerry on the market, though it'll be interesting to see what the final Storm is like, since that's it's only competition for the title of best BlackBerry evar. The Curve 8900, while it greatly improves the original Curve, is missing 3G, so not a match for the Bold. And the Pearl Flip... meh for a real smartphone user.

If Apple can't figure out a way to make the iPhone play nice with Exchange, I might run back to RIM. It's a shame too because Apple could make a Blackberry-killer if it really wanted too.

It's too bad the Storm is going to take away its spot light... Why anyone would choose a BB w/ AT&T, is beyond me.

@Mona: After staying away from Verizon because of their shitty lineup of phones, I think the Storm is the first phone to make me consider Verizon. T-Mobile's coverage is cruddy when I leave the city limits.
