BlackBerry Curve 8900 (Javelin) Video Hands On and Comparison
Following up their review of the pre-release BlackBerry Curve 8900 (aka Javelin), the CrackBerry guys decided to shoot a video of it, including both a feature walkthrough and a comparison with the older Curve and the new Bold. It's helpful, since the Javelin really is a combination of the two. Anyway, have a look—thankfully the CB dudes made the video embeddable, so your clickin' finger can rest awhile. [CrackBerry] -

BlackBerry Curve 8900 Out Next Month on T-Mobile Germany (Everywhere Else Shortly?)
Next month will apparently be a busy one for RIM. Besides launching its first ever touchscreen phone, the Storm, they'll be pushing out their all-new Curve 8900 on T-Mobile Germany, says the carrier's site. Formerly known by the codename Javelin, it brings the Bold's design and updated, slicker OS down to a smaller form factor. Unfortunately, it doesn't carry over 3G, but it will definitely be cheaper. Expect it everywhere else shortly thereafter, since it's unlikely to be plagued by the same certification issues that the Bold has been wrestling with. [T-Mobile.De via BGR] -

BlackBerry Javelin Sells for $17,000 on eBay
We're anxious to check out the BlackBerry Javelin, don't get us wrong. But even we have our limits. Like, we wouldn't pay $17,100 for the thing. Maybe $16,500. But anything over $16,800? That's just nuts. [eBay via CrackBerry] -

Best Look at the BlackBerry Javelin Yet
Our last peek at the BlackBerry Javelin—the Boldish phone that'll replace the Curve—was kind of assy, but we've got some fresh and crispy shots that really show off just how cheap and ugly it makes the Curve look. (It's the one on the left, BTW.) More » -

BlackBerry Javelin Live Comparison Shot: More Svelte Than the Curve
We've seen some nice renders of the BlackBerry Javelin, but it's hard to get a sense of size from them. So, here's a shot of it in between the Curve (which it'll probably be replacing) and the 8800. While it's just about the same height as the Curve, it's definitely smaller and thinner—which means it's way tinier than the Bold too, since it's one of the larger devices has RIM put out in a while. With Wi-Fi and GPS, Javelin's looking like a solid follow up to the Curve. [Howard Forums via Crackberry] -

Leaked Marketing Photos for BlackBerry Javelin Show 512mhz Processor, Lens Inside LCD?
The folks at Crackberry has obtained marketing photos of RIM's new non-3G smartphone, the Blackberry Javelin, which gives us the down low on the details of the phone. Javelin will contain a 512 MHz processor, 256 MB of onboard flash memory plus a hot-swappable microSD slot, a hi-res 460 x 360 HVGA+ display, Wi-Fi with UMA and GPS, and a 3.2 megapixel camera. What briefly piques my interest though is the promise of "integrated lens/LCD technology." Does that mean a second camera hidden behind the display or is it just more ad speak for "the display is pretty"? The release date still seems to be slated for 2009. [Crackberry] More »
