@Sambo320: I don't think anyone is calling the Pre a business phone. There are a lot of people who use the BlackBerry, are loyal to the BlackBerry, may only be allowed to use a BlackBerry, and are upgrading their BlackBerry.
Secondly, Palm is aiming more at Apple than at RIM with the Pre.
Third, and most importantly, people who want more than six hours of use between charges will choose a Bold over a Pre. Running lots of apps is good until it leaves you with 10% charge by 3 pm.
Well, to everyone on Verizon, now you can finally have a true modern Blackberry. (not trying to start shit with the 3 Storm owners who know how to use the internet)
sprint. when will it come to sprint? i saw a road map a while back that pointed to later in the year, but nothing else. will someone please think of the children
@allowed to twitter @ work_Nick: i wish sprint had better coverage. i'm on them now and was considering leaving till word of the Pre came out. now i can't sleep at night because i want the phone, but i also want to be able to use it. woe is me.
@allowed to twitter @ work_Nick: kind of like that here in virginia. as long as you're in a big city (DC area, Richmond, Hampton Roads) you're fine, but venture to the outskirts and beyond and it's roam baby roam. not that i plan on twittering from the Appalachian trail, but i would want google and gps at my disposal.
I've been waiting for a decent VZW business phone for what seems like forever. I heard about this a while ago. Glad to see it's finally coming to fruition.
I hate to disagree with you here (actually, I love to) but while VZW has always been a step or two behind the more GSMey providers in terms of business[/all] phones, they've had good Blackberries for quite some time. Maybe not as good as the Bold, but that's still a pretty recent release.
But can it reciever e-mail without leaving computer on with that stupid re-director. Palm pre, come over to verizon...
(note: this is for a work phone, many people around here bypass a treo and get BB only to discover the whole leave your computer on thing, which apparently is too hard for them understand and wonder where their mail is at)
But can it reciever e-mail without leaving computer on with that stupid re-director.
???????
If you ever needed the redirector then either you or your company is using it wrong.
I had a Blackberry back in 2001 and I think I had to use the redirector once or twice for some reason that I can't possibly remember because that was 8 years ago. But then again, the BB also ran on a double-A battery.
I was so excited about the Storm, until a couple of my friends got it.. Then back to the old 8830 for me.
It kills me that VZW has the best service, but uses damn CDMA. (And yes, I mean best service in my area and yes, I've owned ATT BBs for work and used them side-by-side with VZW BBs, so I'm not a random nut).
@ScottRose: but it's that random nut that spices up my day. it's like a french fry in my onion rings (or tater tots). that random $20 in my pocket i find the next time i wear my jeans. seeing an ex that dumped get fat with a new boyfriend that's uglier than me. finding out it IS lupus on house. i guess what i am saying here is "ScottRose -- Will you be my random nut?"

I could have sworn that the last news I'd heard about a Niagra release date was for May.
Now May is 2 days away and I have to wait for July!?
Big let-down frown. :(

Welcome to Verizon, where we ram our "superior" network down your throat and don't let you use anything else!

So probably RIM building in WiFi would be a huge time waste.

The non-tactile keyboard is still wrong with it, IMO. Though I know that's a total personal-preference thing.
