i personally think that blackberry is a dying breed, and this phone only serves to prove my point more. ( it doesn't really have anything much to stand out. then why bother manufacture it ? )
@iSmithx_is_stronger_than_you: THANK YOU! Seriously. Every time I see these things I think the same exact thing. What drives people to purchase them quarter after quarter, I'll never know. But, I've experienced typing on one, and lets just say I wasn't impressed. Combine that with a visually unappealing OS and features that nearly every other smartphone has and I don't see how these things day aren't numbered....
@TheSonOfKrypton:
I own both an iPhone and a Blackberry. If you live and die by corporate (outlook) email, nothing beats a Blackberry. The OS and browser are clunky compared to the iPhone and a lot of other stuff out there. However, the email/calendar/task/push integration with Exchange is just plain amazing. I'd even say it's by far better than WinMo.
The iPhone is the Wifes, and I do admit I ask for it when ever I want to browse a webpage :)
@iSmithx_is_stronger_than_you: Blackberry's aren't leaving, anytime soon. The Storm release might have put a hurt on RIM, but the devices are solid and great for office communication.
The email/calendar/push/etc. on the iPhone is pretty flawless as far as I'm concerned. My only complaint with the iPhone's Exchange support is that it does not sync with Public Folders on the Exchange Server. Not sure if the Blackberry's do this.
@BostonPimpDaddy2: yeah, what was the reason this was put out again? i can't remember if it did something new or they were just emptying the parts bin.
@Ben Walker: you can source the black trackball from the tmobile g1. same exact part, just different ball. drop in replacement and you can wow the chicks with your "pre-release" 8900. ooOOoOoOoOoOOO!
@dnyyanks62: Why? EDGE still gives me about 200kbps down. I do not think its a deal breaker, I tether my phone all the time and yes I have a work verizon curve so I have done the comparison.
@zimstyles: plus, the browsing experience on blackberrys sucks anyways, leaving you browsing "specially formatted" (aka wap sites) versions anyways that download just fine over edge.
until blackberry releases a real browser, 3g is nigh worthless.
It's bad enough that Sarah Palin is averaging 1.17 "exclusive"* interviews per day without her name or a facsimile thereof winding up on Gizmodo.
*Hey Sarah, when you give interviews to anyone with a camera crew, it stops being exclusive. It's kind of like a prostitute saying she's discerning because she only has sex with men who actually have money.*
**Yes, I just compared Sarah Palin to a prostitute. Last time I checked, she was, in fact, a politician. And no, President Clinton is not comparable to a prostitute; he's more analogous to a john

And yes, having switched from a BlackBerry to an iPhone, I would definitely switch back. The BlackBerry is better for business usage.

they're pretty cool, a good bit smaller than the bold, of course the lack of 3G is not so great.

Go Canada. We got the bold first, and now the new curve. I guess RIM has been trying to cut down on shipping costs by shipping close to home.

whatever.

Any word on whether this is the Javelin or if the Javelin is different from the Curve 8900?
