@four12: Where in the hell are your airbags placed. And have you ever taken a physics class, if so please explain how a device mounted ABOVE and BEHIND the airbag cover, tethered by a cord and nowhere in the path of the airbags ejection, will some how become a flying object. Because all of those OEM steering wheel mounted controls have GOT TO GO.
I'll wait...........

10 and 2. the top is 12 and the bottom is 6. Even if you dont hold your wheel there how many times have you one handed your wheel...(bad pun). And GASP what if you drive a STANDARD like me.... the HORROR
so what about taking the wire that goes to the cigarette lighter and actually run it to your fuse box or another grounded source. You can do it with radar detectors and GPS Navi's.... why not this?
I LOVE the idea of having a tether for the steering wheel. How else are you going to lash the wheel during foul-weather? Sheesh. I suppose you don't use battens to keep your windows closed when driving through squalls either.

Not only does it impair your ability to grasp the steering wheel, what happens when the airbag deploys and this thing gets lodged in your skull?
