    Just think of the fond memories we will have in twenty years when we see photos of the joyous devices we type on Gizmodo right now.

    There were still a couple of these around Selfridges and other stores when I was in high school. I admit that I was lucky enough to start with a VIC-20 instead, but there was always something appealing about a keyboard where you press three different keys simultaneously and it saves you two keystrokes by typing the word for you.

    ZX81, baby. That's what introduced me into computing, along with it's full 1K of RAM.

    Reminds me of my old Timex Sinclair i used to crash financial markets and usher in the deep recession of 1981-82.

    @General Halfshaftery:

    When I was a few years old, my dad got our first household computer, a Timex Sinclair 1000... years later I tracked down a working one at a garage sale and actually programmed it a bit. Good times...

    Was it just a keyboard, or did it do something special?

    @fate47 shops smart, shops S-Mart: It has video out. You plug it into a monitor just like any other computer.
