    As near as I can tell from the press releases, this study in fact only shocked healthy volunteers, and found that (surprise surprise), this disrupted performance.

    The bit about 'speeding up' Parkinson's patients seems be a misinterpretation of the author's comments, where they try to argue that their results have implications for Parkinson's patients.

    It's really quite delightful how science journalism tends to turn into a game of Chinese whispers. Dear Giz, I don't ask you to read the actual journal article before blogging on science, but at least check the abstract ([www.cell.com]). It's only 150 words, and makes it abundantly clear that in this case, your headline is overselling the case.
