First iPhone 3G 2009 Screens Look Very Real To Me

I'm looking at these images from a Hong Kong blog, and they totally look like The Real Thing™ to me. Sure they are blurry, but those applications' user interface definitely screams Apple design. The gallery shows the compass and autofocus in action—which can't work in current hardware. More »

Pioneer Sneaks Out $2200 Elite BDP-09FD; First Blu-ray Player That Crushes the PS3

Last May Pioneer told us that autumn would bring a "super duper" Blu-ray player—the most powerful Blu-ray player ever built. It makes up for the current crop, which are lower in price but are missing key features like BD-Live for internet-based content. Well, not a leaf has fallen off a tree, yet here it is already, the $2,200 Elite BDP-09FD. Feature-wise, the best Blu-ray player on the market has been the PS3—turns out, an extra $1,700 will buy you something that kills Sony's game console as far as Blu-ray and other media are concerned. Breaking: Final Fantasy 13 Coming to Xbox 360

That's right, it's EXCLUSIVE to Xbox 360. Sony and Nintendo are weeping now. Final Fantasy is a game-changing franchise that can carry a console. It's not exclusive after all, we got ahead of ourselves—the release will coincide with the PS3 version. Still—awesome.

Lips Karaoke Confirmed, Lets You Sing Any Song on Your Zune (or iPod!)

Microsoft just confirmed that Lips is not just an awkward prerelease codename but the final title of the Xbox 360 karaoke game with motion-sensing, rhinestone-encrusted microphone we've been hearing about. Most interesting though is integration with your Zune or—gasp!—iPod for loading your own songs into the game. No more complaining that your local 'oke joint isn't indie enough for you. Confirmed: BlackBerry Thunder is Actually BlackBerry Storm, Release Not Delayed

Giz has learned from a solid source that the upcoming BlackBerry is definitely being called the "Storm" and not the "Thunder" as previously reported—proving that BGR had it all wrong all along. BGR was also incorrect in stating that the release would be delayed. In fact, our source claims that "It's on track and it rocks." So, it seems that in the midst of all of this iPhone news, BlackBerry fans have something to get excited about as well. Thanks, Tipster X!

    PlayStation 3 Firmware 2.4 Bricking Some PS3s

It's not uncommon for firmware updates to go wonky, and apparently Sony's 2.4 PS3 update is no exception. The PlayStation forums are scattered with various reports of bricked PS3s—users report that upon booting their system, the SIXAXIS controller will not sync and the video signal is blank with no sound. Unfortunately, you can never tell how widespread these issues are when the sampling is just one messageboard. And I've updated my 60GB launch unit without issue. Suckers. More »
