It uses augmented reality to generate a 3D video that can be manipulated on screen.

If you happen to be in the same field as Mr Alliban here, I suggest you step up your game (or replicate the idea at least). [James Aliban via Josh Spear via Hack a Day]

<![CDATA[Google Me Business Cards: Best or Worst Idea Ever?]]> This business card idea is undoubtedly clever, visually suggesting to people that they just Google your name for contact info. But do you want to encourage people to do so?

If you happen to be John Mahoney, people will think you're some old guy that appeared on Frasier. If you're Adam Frucci, your dance moves will immediately stand out. And if you're me, well, people will occasionally blame you for a certain CES prank that Techmeme is convinced I wrote. So I ask again, do you want to be Googled? [Ji Lee via Geek Sugar]

<![CDATA[Planetary Gear Business Cards Will Get You Hired For Any Job]]> In an ocean of business cards, standing out from the crowd is extremely important. This planetary gear version will definitely get noticed—making you appear more creative and hardworking than you probably are.

Granted, making one of these cards using the basic instructions provided by Thingverse is going to be a bit tricky, so don't go handing these out to just anyone. Make em' count. [Thingverse via Hacked Gadgets]

<![CDATA[3D Business Cards Are Good For One Application, If That]]> During a few of my college summers, I worked in a real estate office making various marketing materials. And browsing through the books of pre-made ads—endless catalogs full of countless tacky self-promotions that included lightning bolts and big game animals—you'd see things like these "3D" pop-up business cards...but nothing quite as bad. Unless your job is selling pop-up business cards, we can't really recommend them for use. [fubiz vie Geekologie]

<![CDATA[Nintendo Famicom Business Card Holders Combine Your Idealistic Childhood With Your Sellout Adulthood]]> What better way to bring your childhood into the present with these Nintendo Famicom business card holders. Your $8.80 will get you one random cartridge or controller, which may or may not be a that really horrible knockoff one made by that one lousy company in the mid '80s. We're looking at you, Ice Climber. If you're lucky, you'll get Zelda, Ballon Fight, or Mario instead. [GameAsylum via Nerd Approved]

<![CDATA[M++CARD Combines a Business Card With USB Storage]]> The benefits of combining USB storage with a business card are obvious. For one thing, it will get you noticed and make your card less dispensable. Second, it is a convenient and logical means to deliver important information to prospective employers and clients. Unfortunately, no one has truly succeeded in this endeavor (and simply printing your information on a thumb drive doesn't count). At the very least, this concept piece from designer Abhinav Dapke offers something approaching a solution.

Basically a flap on the rear of the card can be used to attach different memory sizes, and a pair of slits can be used for the USB adapter. To be honest, it doesn't amount to much more than taping a USB drive to an existing card. Still, it is a fairly elegant approach to the problem —but it might make more sense to develop a thin all-in-one usb drive that is specifically designed to hold business cards. So, my guess is that this concept will have to go back to the drawing board a few times before a viable product can be developed. [Coroflot via Core77 via DVICE]

<![CDATA[Lock Pick Business Card: Sweet Form, Solid Function]]> We collect a LOT of business cards throughout the year, and while most of them are far from memorable, every now and then one stands out. But even of the few cool ones I've been handed, none of them are quite as awesome as this lock pick card, which is loaded up with fully functional tools besides looking incredibly sleek and modern. Just don't show it to Patrick Bateman.

<![CDATA[Info Rings Save You From Carrying Around Business Cards]]> Picture this scenario. Both you and another businesswoman are wearing Info Rings. You shake hands, and exchange relevant business information—email, photo, phone number, which Hyatt suite you're staying in—via your rings. Then, when you go back to your room, you can review and file her information on your PC.

This is only a concept for now, but a concept that seems pretty useful for trade shows where you meet hundreds of people but only remember the name of the annoying guy in the next booth.
