    @AciSpades: Since I let a very pregnant Brian Lam sleep in my barn - where he proceeded to give birth to the baby Jesus who, as we all know, went on to become his Senior Associate Editor - I suppose he figured he owed me one.


    @Arvedui: I guess there ARE those who would make the argument that a "computer" is "technology," but as long as no one knows you have one, and you only code in simple HTML for family farms and such, it doesn't really count.


    Besides, Amish (and Mennonites) don't shun technology per se, it's more like a ban on the accoutrements of contemporary society that degrade community. Hence the historical ban on individually-owned phones (which I broadly interpret as a ban against the 3G iPhone until it supports 32 GB of memory).
