New Zealand and I use the LG GR500 (which I actually imported off Ebay in the states because it's much cheaper there!)

    North America. I rotate between a Nokia N95-3 and a Nokia 5800XM.

@Gundem: The best full QWERTY keyboard phone I could find on Verizon for the price was the LG enV2. I'll admit, it sucks, but it can text and its not borderline unusable like my Chocolate 2 was after it broke.

Wasn't something like this already (briefly) released for the iphone? I seem to remember there being a lot of hullabaloo because apple got pissed that someone modified the texting application, thus beginning their slow decent into madness of banning any app that does what the phone already did out of the box.

Laugh it up, Frooch. The MTA cuts got approved. So unless you feel like being crammed into an overcrowded subway car (assuming your train is still running), you're gonna be walking.

This does require you to hold your phone up directly in front of you as you type which is actually quite inconvenient.

Sorry but you can't make the case that people will confuse a phone with a fictional android. Not even close.

OK, I know that Motorola named their Android phone after the name for androids taken from a science fiction movie, even going so far to paying George Lucas to use the term "Droid." Just because they did it doesn't mean that everyone did it. Nexus is an old word and has been used in several Science Fiction works, in addition to Blade Runner, with various meanings.

    Come on.

@Platypus Man: Well its quite a bit different just from a legal stand point too. Droid entered popular vernacular through a term that was trademarked by Lucas. Its the fact that SW is more than just science fiction its a pop culture phenomena. At that point you can make the argument that it would cause consumer confusion. Its like when Lucas sued the eye doctor's for using the term lightsaber for one of their tools. SW is much more wildly known and terms like lightsaber and droid are more likely to be misconstured as being associated with SW/Lucas/et al.

On the other hand how many people even know about Blade Runner? More importantly how many people know that it was based on a book called "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" Or for that matter that the replicants/androids (if the book) were nexus units? Its so esoteric blogs have to explain it.

@tande04: Electric Sheep was required reading in my high school, so maybe more than you might think? Blade Runner was also watched in my high school English class, but maybe that is due to an esoteric teacher than anything else.
