I looked at the ones not designed for women, and they look a lot nicer, better constructed and NO FRIGGIN PINK. Wearing pink is one thing, trying to sell down to women using pink is so condescending.
@Curves: That's what I thought, I hate the pink RAZR's & Blackberry's and pink laptops and pink computer bags. Like a women is more likely to buy if the product is pink. Unless the woman really likes the pink color. Funny, I do see more than my share of women with pink products, so maybe this marketing strategy does work...
@anti-hello-kitty: Pink is pretty popular with the pre teen set and some women, true, but seemingly the ladies of Giz do not care for pink gadgets and probably for the same reasons as me.
I don't fly too often, but when I do, I don't really like taking my laptop out. One time my laptop ended up getting switched with this girl that had an identical looking model. Luckily she opened it up to turn it on and noticed it wasn't hers. That would have been an incredible pain in the butt.
I have passed through a checkpoint many times with my new checkpoint friendly bag, and the TSA staff DO know the rules, and so far every airport has been a breeze. It won't save that much time, but I do prefer not having to take my laptop out, and risk some joker stealing it.
This is a load of crap. I don't believe TSA agents are going to waste their time to be briefed on this. You probably will end up having to take out your laptop or get caught up in some big hassle explaining this and then them having to go to some supervisor to get it "cleared". To be honest I never found laptop bags to be any different than regular suitcases so why do we need to take the laptops out in the first place? Can TSA agents not x-ray through these bags and if that's the case I'm making a suitcase out of a laptop bag. Can someone tell me what makes a laptop bag anymore different than another non laptop bag?
this is the ridiculousness of the US system in action. We may not be kicked off of our ISP for downloading files illegally (*caugh* France), yet. But we certainly have to buy something in order to fix a problem that isn't a problem at all. The xray machines are sophisticated enough right now to tell the difference between water and alcohol, I think they can see if that's a real laptop. But please pay $59 for something with no purpose. As a side note, I always carry a few protable HDs in my lappie case, and they never have to come out...
This wouldn't help, if I didn't take my laptop of of its case a TSA person would get all up in my face. What do I tell them, "oh this is a special case that allows me to not take my laptop out" Like they will believe that,I'd end up in some back room with a guy water boarding me half to death or something
@jakeyjohn1: lol, but yeah, thats pretty much how it would end up. From what I've seen they don't seem to pick up the laptop to probe much of the time, although I'm sure there's always that one happy idiot that must inspect the laptop as if he/she were actually able to tell if there was something amiss about your particular model.
