@alexmg2420: Cinemas still technically have the best color and quality in their range of monitors. Keep in mind Cinemas were basically focused towards designers and production. Thats the reason majority of VFX and video related firms use those specific displays. The Mill NYC recently spent over $65,000 to purchase the 24" Cinemas for its range of VFX workers.

@imTheKing: Hmm... the LCDs are definitely not made by Apple. Given that there are fewer LCD makers (Samsung, LG, Philips, Sharp, Sony) than monitor brands (Apple, Dell, IBM, Acer, etc.), it's hard to believe that the manufacturer is not supplying other brands with the same screens.
