There's a huge liquidation sale going on this weekend at the Meadowlands. They've been advertising for it all week. Based on products they mention in the ad I'm wondering if it's remaining CC merchandise...

I actually liked the store near where I live. Their store employees were fairly non-existent so I wouldn't get hassled when I went in there. It was nice and quiet with it's lack of customers.

Though truthfully, I did get a few price-match deals through both Best Buy and CC everyonce in a while

@SrsRevo17: It sucks when you actually need the employees for something though. The last time I was at Circuit City, I wanted to buy a blue tooth head set that was in the glass case. There were two more people who wanted to buy the same thing. We asked an employee to get it out of the case, but he disappeared and never came back. Wtf? That was a bunch of lost sales right there. This sort of service is unacceptable. I never went back.

My local store is pretty much toast. I stopped by yesterday and aside from the 20 million USB-A to USB-B for still way too high of a price, there was 3 LCD TV's and a couple hundred spanish music CD's. I did manage to pick up a "For Dummies" book on DSLR's/Digital Photography for 3 bucks though.

I hated Circuit City for their poor service, and terrible prices...

But I feel sorry for those who are now going to be out of a job, as some of them I am quite sure tried their best. Especially since this economy is getting real bad, I hope they find a new job shortly...

I'm kinda worried now that Best Buy no longer has a direct competitor, now they can be free to jack up prices if they so choose. I know alot of people would take their business online, but there are those of us that would still rather shop locally... I personally love to shop online, but I also love having a choice to shop locally to...

@SegamanXero: I agree with your sentiment. I hate to see anyone lose their job, but I had to chuckle that your assessment of Circuit City's employees is that "some of them I am quite sure tried their best."

@elementary: yea, some of the people who worked their tried their best with the little knowledge they had. Its the execs fault for firing people who where knowledgeable and hired lower paid replacements which didn't know jack shyte.... I think that was the first nail in CC's coffin actually...

@SrsRevo17: I live in a big city, specifically Boston MA, pretty big city... not as big as NYC though...

but yea here we don't have Fry's, J&R, or Ultimate Electronics.

We had CompUSA at one point (in a far off location in Cambridge, and we have BestBuy, CEX (landmark store of this British second hand electronics store was here), and we HAD Circuit City...
