Now the rewards club has launched in the US.

You can sign up for free over at the Club Nintendo site, and we warn you, while we signed up for an account without a hitch, when we actually tried to do anything (like register our games for those precious coins that will buy your rewards), the site got very slow, and even logged us out randomly more than once.
Apparently all of the good stuff runs 800 coins. If anyone has been able to register their games, please leave a comment as to how many coins you per each game. We've bought so much Nintendo crap that we're bound to have something free waiting...we'd hope. [Club Nintendo via Kotaku]

<![CDATA[Club Nintendo Finally Coming to America]]> America will soon join Europe, Japan and some other lucky folks and have access to the elite Club Nintendo...club. Sure, it's a Nintendo marketing ploy to get users to register products and fill out surveys, but Club Nintendo is also the only outlet to buy the most sacred, extra limited edition Nintendo gear. We'll keep our ear to the ground and let you know when registration begins, but until then, check out this awesome SNES Virtual Console controller that was offered earlier this year by Club Nintendo Japan. Pretty great, right? [Kotaku and image]

<![CDATA[The Nintendo DS Premium (That You Will Never Own)]]> This silver metallic DS (we know it looks kinda gold in this picture) is one of just 3,000 Premium DS Lites being given away to lucky Club Nintendo members in Japan. 1,000 Premium Silver, 1,000 Premium Black, and 1,000 Premium Rose systems are all winnable by any club member who can provide serial numbers from two DS games purchased since 2006. And once again, we're left a little jealous that America has no Club Nintendo. [裏はちま起稿 via Kotaku]

<![CDATA[SNES Controller for Wii Unboxed, Looks Incredibly Authentic]]> Nintendo's just started shipping out these SNES controllers to their Club Nintendo members in Japan, and great googly moogly are these fantastic. Not only is it a similar greyish color, but the X Y B A face buttons are exactly the same color as before! What better way to play SNES games on the Wii emulator than with an actual SNES controller!

It's too bad that this is only for Club Nintendo members and only for Japan, but you can see more beautiful shots of the gamepad over at Inside Games. If you want to use your original NES or SNES controllers in the Wii, there's also the RetroZone controller adapters for $19 each. [Inside Games]
