The awesome series have some insight on that: [xspblog.com]
I think nowadays we have so many different and segmented content that in the future we'll not even be able to judge how "advertising campaigns were bad back then"...
But I guess we'll always be able to say stuff like how bad this "formelly known Sony" ad campaign was awful, how they were too 2D, how the special effects were bad, how weirdly we dressed back then.... etc etc.
@AndPreciousLittleofThat: "if an advertisement for the product airs on G4, it's probably future-offensive." Forget future-offensive, how about now-offensive?
@AndPreciousLittleofThat: There was one that I saw just a few months ago for "Red Stripe" beer. It has a Jamaican guy who hands a guy a beer and says, "Red Stripe. It helps white people dance!"
I always hate when I actually HAVE to use the "can you hear me now" phrase when I'm on the phone.
Even though I'm genuinely asking, I still feel like a dick for saying it.
Thanks verizon.

Any ad featuring 4-wheel drive vehicles doing it in the dirt, at least after driving off road becomes a federal offense.

If an advertisement for the product airs on G4, it's probably future-offensive.
But yeah, personally I think we'll look back on ads for "Call of Duty 6: Dicks of Honor" (or whatever the title is now) with growing horror.

How about those wonderful people who make the ads for Axe Body Spray? Yikes.

Geez, I wish I could find that ad somewhere...

That should be their new slogan.
What about the Vegas tagline that has been used for everything.
"What happens in ___ stays in __". I have seen and heard some ridiculous references, most don't even sense.
