Small enough that it could easily be wired into a car stereo system. My only question is where does it get power?

probably an onboard battery. probably mini or micro USB for recharging, so just wire your car for USB and yer good to go.

This looks nice. I've got a phone with a 2.5mm jack that I connect via adaptor to a 3.5mm line-input, but it's an inelegant solution (although it's the most battery-efficient right now). An A2DP receiver with battery life comparable to, say, a Sansa Clip would be really, really nice to have.

if a pickpocket steals your wallet... chances are that they will still get away due to the fact that they will run... then once they get a hammer the wallet will be broken anyway.

@telepheedian: Carbon fiber cracks and breaks relatively easy when faced with impact trauma, even to the point of shattering; however, it is resilient and strong when faced with constant stress and bending. I'm not sure if they've addressed the issue, but carbon fiber used to begin to break down fairly rapidly when exposed to UV light.

@Nathan Obbards: I'm guessing you meant Kevlar when you were talking about UV exposure; carbon fiber has no such problems. Kevlar, however, does.

Aside from that, carbon fiber by itself may not be strong enough to resist against accidental high-impact, but if the case were made from some kind of CF-reinforced polymer (maybe one the IS impact resistant, like some of DuPont's rubber-based polymers), and then lined with Kevlar 29 or 49 on the inside, I doubt many thieves would have the patience to cut through the shell.

The wallet is greater than the sum of its parts, but it still ain't worth $600, in my opinion.

@caine3320: Ah, maybe I misunderstood. I heard a while back that, over time, carbon fiber was weakened due to exposure to heat and sunlight, UV, being one of the factors..

If it is kevlar reinforced, or even polymer, I get the feeling that it wouldn't take more than an icepick and a hammer at the right place to open it up. If you manage to get the phone and the wallet, you have all the time in the world to open it up.

Thanks for the heads up iWallet Creator, Steve Cabouli, and lovely spokeslady. Now I know to steal the phone and cut off the finger of the person I'm robbing...
oh wait biometrics doesn't work with severed fingers. Thanks, Google search. Guess I'll just have to ensure I get the iWallet open prior to leaving the scene of the "crime..."

I cannot fucking stand it when companies other than Apple put a lowercase "i" before their name. Its annoying enough from one major company; we don't need EVERYONE doing it now, too.

@MacTodd: Because thats sentence structure. There's usually a subject and a verb. In this case, the subject is the "I" and the verb is the "stand." There's your first-grade English lesson for the day, smart-ass.

Thats a good concept and all, but again; why is it 600 bones? A very nice wallet made from whatever material you want with the same tech should not run more than two bills, and I do realize that one is for sale for 299, still too much.

    "why is it 600 bones?"

because no one would believe that a $100-$200 fingerprint reading biometric wallet would be any good. price it higher and people automatically assume there's a good reason for it to be so.
