small correction to the article, it does not support e-atx, at least according to new egg and Thermaltake's specs page. I really wanted this to be the home for my dual i7 rig i am constructing.
This looks like it'll mainly be useful in the lobby of a company as a showpiece computer, allowing visitors to sign in and running slide show type apps at other times. When I see all the surfaces, I think "dust".
Some notes:
-$849, granted this could be the last case you ever buy for 10+ years, I'll give them that.
-If you're going to completely redesign the idea of a 'case' then why put the power supply up top? I've never understood why it goes there, it's the heaviest part of a case. Why not put it on, or close to, the floor? Cases are always top heavy because of the power supply.
@Lupison: my guess why the PSU is always up top is because of the heat it generates, since heat rises it makes sense to have it above the other components
@Deunan: I don't think you need to be a PC Gamer to appreciate the case. I used to 'game' on a PC years ago and would definitely prefer to classify myself differently than a "gamer". :: shudders :: Plus, developing apps that do real things is more fun than dicking around with directional arrows, anyway.
@PregoNation: Believe me, there are plenty of people that will buy it. A friend of mine did his last build with one of those fatality monolith cases. Spendy, yes, but it looks fabulous. A good case can take you through many builds... where the parts inside may become outdated or fall off the bleeding edge, the case can live on and on. My only worry with this particular design is how well it will be able to accommodate the newer, longer video cards. If you are going to build something on the bleeding edge, you'll easily spend more than twice the cost of this kit on parts alone. I'm not suggesting that it's cheap, but it's not prohibitively priced for the enthusiast market, either.
You know, I do all my builds on microATX these days, for portability. I don't think it would be such a stretch for them to execute a similar design for a smaller mobo form factor. +crosses fingers+
This thing is way too heavy to really think about moving anywhere. It's pretty much going to stay where it's placed. The handle is kind of a joke, in that regard.
@yantelope: That price tag is just too much. Honestly if it was 1/3 or 1/2 the price this case would be reason enough for me to build a tower right now.

I have loved the Thermaltake BMW Level 10 case ever since the first concept drawings and renders appeared on the internet...
This case will spawn a new era of PC's.
