Not much in the way of tech stuff, but my sister did get me one of those Transformer USB drives. Totally unexpected, and totally awesome!

Oh, wait - I did also get a Bosch laser distance measurer. That thing is the bomb!

I got a netbook from my mother: unfortunately, running windows 7 starter. however, thanks to Gizmodo for letting me know i can get a cheap upgrade with my .edu address. Thanks Gizmodo, Merry Christmas!

I'm one of those hard to buy for people, probably because I buy myself all the cool stuff I want all year round. I have more fun watching everyone else open their gifts at christmas.

@d0xicle: In my family, grown-ups don't even do gifts. My husband and I get stuff but we actually pick it out ourselves. We regard it as our big splurge. We tend to buy what we want when we want it like you. We know we're hard to shop for, even for eachother. Plus my family is just not much into shopping and having lots of stuff.

The fun part of xmas as far as gifts go, is watching our nephews go nuts opening toys.

On a side note, this was the first Christmas without my oldest brother as he was murdered earlier this year by his father-in-law. He was 43 and 10 days away from his birthday which happened to fall on Mother's Day this year, so that wasn't fun either. I raked in the stuff I claimed in my other post for gifts, and gave some great ones to everyone else.

Then I gave my parents and my other brother a picture of my brother I had been photochopping up in a nice log frame edged with deer horns and the whole place flooded with tears. It was the best present of the day, but we were missing one family member.

Only tech stuff I got was a 10 in digital frame (to show off all my pics from a semester in Europe), and Modern Warfare 2. Also got some theatre tickets, a box set of books, a french coffee press and electric tea kettle, and some other random small stuff.

All in all, a pretty decent haul
