Too bad we won't be able to import the phones. Thanks, Japan, for locking your phones into one carrier, even if they support GSM, and creating a lucrative market for outdated models (at over $500 or so for a phone even on eBay with one of those el-cheapo fake-out SIM module things I have to PASTE onto a SIM card).
When will Japan learn there's a demand for their phones in the US? #fujitsuconceptphones
These designs look so dated. For the next couple years I expect almost all phones to either be a touchscreen slab or have a keyboard like the Pixi or Pre. I can only see a place for numerical keypads for small, cheap phones or for the elderly.
It'd be nice if there was something cool and unexpected tho... #fujitsuconceptphones
@FooSchnickens - BPH Free: That's exactly what I thought it was. All in favor? 2/2 votes for bottle opener. Agreed - it is a bottle opener and 100% not anything else, period. Done. #picoprojector
My mom still HAS a rotary phone, which is now called "pulse dialing". My digital aged daughter thinks its really cool, but doesnt understand why there is no redial and cant believe there was ever a time no area code was needed to place a local call.
I would have liked to have seen this phone next to something to get a scale on it. It wont fit ANY holders or cases, but the odd shape would make it easier to find in the depths of a dark purse.
@No_7: When trying to describe how something doesn't look like it came from the 60s, try avoiding references to television shows that aired in the 60s.
Unless you're one of the new converts after the JJ Abrams movie. In which case....carry on.
"industry's first bi-directional swivel hinge." just means that you can turn the screen to the left or to the right to flip it into slate mode. My older fujitsu tablet did the same, as does the Lenovo x200 tablet.
@MrThunderfield: German nouns have gender, and therefore the appropriate pronoun is "he/she/it" even for inanimate objects. This is really common when a machine translation is used. From the perspective of a literal translation it is correct, although a functional translation should switch all of them to "it" for non-animate objects.

Also, I find it amusing that "Mädchen" (which means "girl") has the "it" pronoun. Chauvinistic, are we, Germany?
