When I was a little brat (now I'm a bigger brat who learned that i can't touch my toes and it hurts when I try), I melted a probably original Optimus Prime toy (sans trailer) to a light bulb in a desk lamp. "Uhhh he died in the movie so you can't really blame me, mom".

Of course I wish I hadn't, but I was young and that was the year I discovered you could burn things with a magnifying lens so it was a natural conclusion to that summer.

Melted plastic is awesome. Although in retrospect that toy was probably painted with arsenic, lead, and rare albino monkey blood so the fumes weren't the best thing to inhale as I watched in awe at the fusion of a playful toy and a skin melting 150w bulb hidden behind an innocent shade of lies. Hey, it was the 80's.

Did anyone else notice the SMB music was playing too fast? It's like he has ten seconds left in the level but he's right at the begining. That emulator is whack.

it also sports a feature where every couple times you start it up, it flashes blue and you have to blow into and smack it a few times to get it going

Holy overclocked processor/incorrect fps rate.

Better too fast than too slow, though.

Weird, tetris is normal speed. Perhaps he used wrong region ROM for SMB, maybe PAL instead of NTSC?

@appletoad: It does say (E) next to the rom, so it seems to be PAL. Is that really the only issue?

@Volvonaut: I think so. PAL/NTSC play at different speeds, and I think playing a euro cart on a US system/emu results in it being faster. But most emulators let you pick which region of the console to emulate.

Ah, this has put me in the mood for some Kaizo Mario World.

i hate case modes that don't use original controllers because i hate the feeling of anything but the real thing in my hand. If i'm playing nes, i want an nes controller, not some 3rd party thing or some homemade thing no matter how well its made.

if you were to blind fold me, and give me an NES controller and the absolutly best knock off NES controller(or snes! for that matter)... i mean it could be within 1% exact of a real thing, and i could still tell which one is fake... i guess i spent that many hours with those two controllers in my hands... i kinda miss the feeling, i think i'm gonna go hold one for a few minutes.

Its shocking to see someone play Super Mario Bros without holding down the run button. He kept backing up to get enough speed to jump over the holes or the pipes, its like he hasn't played the game much and doesn't even know you can run.

I put an sandisk image mate in a nes controller and dremmeled the ports. Looks cool and people always ask where I bought it.

Of course it was not working, and I agree that some mods are pointless when they kill off the functionality of a working device.

Now if someone could make a drive that was only unlocked by the konami code would be priceless..
