"In the last year, as Wawarsing homeowners reported mold, wells contaminated with E. coli and basements that flooded even on dry days, the city stepped up its efforts. A few in Wawarsing, a town of 13,000 that is a two-hour drive north of Manhattan, noticed cracks in foundations and sinkholes in their backyards, which they roped off to keep children away."
How do you even train to do this type of job? Where do they find people? It seems like you would need someone who worked for the Cousteau Society, was trained as a Sandhog, and was an astronaut in their spare time.
@92BuickLeSabre: ex navy divers most likely. there are underwater construction and repairs of ships and docks and moarings etc that they do in the navy. most commercial divers are ex navy.
@Hiphopopotamus: I can pretty much guarantee you use more than that... Five minute shower in a 2.5 gallon per minute shower, there's 12.5 Gallons, flush the toilet twice, there's another 7 gallons (3.5 gallon toilet), wash you hands after each of those trips to the bathroom, say the water is on for 30 seconds each time and there's another 1.5 gallons... and hey presto you're at 21 Gallons per day and you've barely met basic hygiene needs.
