The Mighty Mouse is the most horrible computer peripheral I have ever used. And that's saying something. When I was working in a computer lab for a while, every computer had a Mighty Mouse except one. People fought over that computer. #mightymouse
@Identity (reclamation):
Same. In our photo lab I switched the 15 dollar logitech mouse out of a girls computer when she wasn't looking. Oh and they could only scroll up. It's that bad. #mightymouse
@th4tkid: Personally, I've never had huge issues with the Mighty Mouse. In fact, I really like how it feels in the hand - especially the wireless one, since it feels perfectly weighted with the added weight from the batteries. I also really like the squeeze button, and how well it works.
I will admit, the fact that the scrollball gets dirty and stops working (usually in one direction first, then the others) gets old... but that's just a quick cleanup job with an alcohol wipe away from being fixed, and only happens every 6 months or less (for me).
Honestly, my biggest annoyance with it isn't having to deal with the scrollball. it's having to deal with other people having to deal with the scrollball. I get tired of hearing from everyone about how it doesn't work and they need a new mouse, and then explaining to them how to clean it, and that it'll be fine.
In a computer lab setting - I'll agree. nobody cares enough to clean them when they're public and in bulk numbers, so they all stop working right, and it really is pretty annoying.
I'd say it's a far cry from being the "most horrible computer peripheral" ever. I'd say that just about any scanner under $100-$150 bucks is going to give you problems like you've never seen. Sweet mercy I hate my scanner... #mightymouse
@brobot - star unworthy: Also in our photo lab if you turn on the scanners past 600 DPI, the Epson driver freezes up on the computer. That might actually be worse. #mightymouse
I think it was when i stabbed my nipple with a thumb tack that my mouse decided to stop being mighty. the fact that it from then on only scrolled left-right made it awesome for my huge spreadsheets, but horrible for everything else. #mightymouse
woah... $50?! for a WIRED mouse?! god. what are they thinking?!
I hate using the apple mouse when I have to use a mac. It is probably one of the worst experiences ever. Trying to right click... trying to quickly scroll down a long page. It isnt even comfortable to hold. The tracking tech is very outdated by today's standards.
Just rename it The "Might" Mouse... because someone might buy one. If they didn't know better. They also "might" return it, once they do know better. #mightymouse
@mattycakes: I thought it more like a lady's c l i t o r i s...so mystical and yet functional. till the damn thing gets stuck. Well, how the heck did I know you can't lick THAT one! #mightymouse
I use the Mighty Mouse everyday at work, and let me tell you...
Pros: the scroll ball is great for just about everything.
Cons: the 1 click, touch sensing is absolutely garbage.
The squeeze feature is annoying and non-directional.
The tracking is inaccurate, compared to any optical mouse.
The mouse feet are sub par.
The ball can get stuck.
Overall, I'd go and strip the 360-ball and retrofit it to a nice Logitech G3 laser mouse for the ultimate mouse!
Don't get me wrong here I love Mac, but how about a mouse with more than one button on it. The touch sensitive buttons were crap. Is it that hard to get past their ego? I mean come on. But please keep the scroll ball because that was nice.

Apple licensed the name from Viacom, which owns the trademark to the Mighty Mouse name, so the trademark for the other company means absolutely nothing. In fact, unless they licensed it, Viacom could easily sue and recoup damages.
That being said; the mighty mouse did suck. Here's hoping the next one is less sucky...
@John Blair: No: trademark only applies to specific product areas, because its purpose is to avoid product confusion. This is, incidentally, also why Apple can trademark the name of a kind of fruit.
So Man & Machine was on solid legal ground when it started making "Mighty Mouse" computer peripherals, because there was no risk it could be confused with the cartoon.
Later, CBS tried to trademark "Mighty Mouse" for computer mice (to complement their existing trademarks for entertainment), and license that to Apple.
Since Man & Machine had been making Mighty Mouse mice for a while already by that point, they won the ensuing trademark dispute. Man & Machine gets exclusive use for computer mice, Apple gets kinda screwed.
If anyone didn't do their homework, it was CBS and Apple.
U-Verse would have my complete and undying love if their tech support didn't make every minor issue into a three premises visit ordeal. They have umpteen thousand wireless shops around town that are hawking it, so why do I need them to roll a truck to replace an obviously dead receiver?
Unless this keyboard is truly innovative (which could mean they bought/borrowed someone elses idea, though I'm not saying Apple always does that nor is it it just them) then it could be cool. Otherwise, I find their current Bluetooth keyboard somewhat small and worthless in a cute way. I love the laptop style keys (and have always preferred them), but the keyboard makes me yearn for the their previous plastic, white, and full-sized BT keyboard.
The fact that they completely replaced them and didn't offer a full sized option of the aluminum one is ridiculous; but then again is Apples style.
Useless. The *current* Bluetooth keyboard is too light and tiny to use in your lap. It absolutely requires a hard, flat surface or it's nearly impossible to touch-type on it.
What we need is a Bluetooth version of the longer keyboard, numpad included. It's much easier to stabilize on your lap.
@ctthoqqua: I use my Bluetooth Apple keyboard in my lap just fine. I'm a computer science major and I frequently type lines and lines of code on it whilst reclining in a relaxing position. No complaints here.

I like the little nipple. Makes scrolling easy. I never had a problem with the mouse. I have 3. 2 on my work machines and one on my home machine.
I'll agree, they are a little pricey, but, I like them.
As for the Magic Mouse, if I wanted to use a track pad, I'd buy a track pad. #mightymouse
