Adam do you have an iPhone and a buncha apps on it? I don't see any difference between people bashing psp but then saying nooo it's not the same on an iphone!
@Zack-J-T: Yes, because everyone loves the lack of physical buttons, difficult on screen joysticks, lower processor power, worse graphics, etc.
I don't like the Go, but you cannot argue that the iPhone is a better gaming device. The iPhone is a generalist, it does a million things well, but isn't great at any of them.
And no, I'm not a Sony, Blackberry, Droid, Pre, whatever fan, you just can't compare handhelds to a phone or touch PMP.
@Zack-J-T: Since I don't have an iPhone, I would have to factor in the ongoing costs of the service plan. Sorry, but for game playing the PSP is cheaper and gives the player real controls as well.
@Nathan Obbards:
Except for the fact that it's the best mobile device in the world at browsing the web and is an amazing PMP, and oh yeah, has some great casual games that take advantage of the touch screen and accelerometer. I'm a pretty hardcore gamer but since the Appstore came out I use my iPod touch all the time and literally have not touched my PSP.
@TheCrudMan: Right, what about non-casual gamers? And your personal experience doesn't help at all when making arguments like that, I bought a bunch of games for the iPod Touch that I literally couldn't bring myself to playing because of the controls, shitty graphics and how generally shallow they are. Meanwhile I can't put my PSP down when playing FF7: Crisis Core or God of War. But I wouldn't use that as an example of why the "PSP is better," because it's purely based on my tastes and opinions.
@Dr. Evil Genius: No. In fact I'm waiting for stable CFW for it myself. I love my classic phat psp. I remember the day I got CFW I ripped all of my UMDs to my memstick and felt awesome being able to flip between games without carry UMDs around.
@Anonymoose: Is that what you’ve named the little guy?
Fear not, I like my Timmys to be men!

When are noobs going to stop throwing LEDs into shit?
They're the script-kiddies of modding.
Go online -
Pester people about the amount of power in device -
pester more people about the brightest LEDs -
find LED power calculator -
Brag incessantly about your nigh unusable device.
*sigh*
This is probably the worst mod I've ever seen. Completely pointless!
If someone has gone to the trouble (and voided the warranty) of opening the thing up, it would seem worthwhile doing a little more than just wiring up some LEDs!
It qualifies as a mod about as much as sticking rhinestones to the case.
@LittleJon: You obviously don't understand the point of modding do you? It's not always about function or practicality, but about having fun and feeling proud of what you created/modded.
You say its not much more of a mod than putting rhinestones? Well I think you voided your own argument in the paragraph prior to that one. He actually had to wire the LEDs up, find room for them, cut holes in the damn thing.
@Z Naught: As an electronics engineer, I can tell you that wiring up a few LEDs is no big deal. It's a bit like saying that you did some home improvement because you changed the toilet roll!

@Kaiser-Machead:
At this point, I am just looking to replace my imported PSP-2000 that is aging.
It would also be nice if I can get access to the newer PSP games - like the GT you mentioned earlier.

Some of the issues there are really incredible. For example, 1GB game downloads, but only a 802.11b wireless connection!?
