Well, seeing as it costs nothing, I'll DL the stuff tonight. I hope that I can stream my ZunePass content from a Vista-powered puter to my XBox. #xbox360update
I've had this stuff since the preview started. None of it's really all that special.
The killer app (for me), Last.FM, can't run in the background... which completely defeats the purpose of using it.
Don't have a Facebook, so that's useless to me.
I can tweet easier with a full keyboard.
Zune is really just a rebrand of the original Video marketplace, with 1080p video. I don't buy (rent) videos on my 360, and if I did, I can't pull down 1080p anyhow.
The "News and More" thing is a complete joke.
So, yeah. Nothing to see here, move along. #xbox360update
Mine didn't ask for an update, but they were all there. I had to do them individually. Last.FM is a dealbreaker; increased the value of that console a couple of times over. #xbox360update
I just did the update on my Xbox. It is not a dashboard update, you download each item as an app and run it. There is no cost for the app download, but you must be an Xbox Live Gold subscriber. There was a dashboard update last week, so guess if you haven't fired up the xbox in over a week, you will need to do so before Facebook, twitter, last FM and the other stuff appears. #xbox360update
Great, I get sit through a big ass update before playing AC2. Why couldn't you do this on say a Monday or Thursday when new releases aren't coming out, Microsoft? #xbox360update
@Nathan Obbards: This whole banning wave was because the dumbasses started playing games (especially MW2) before the release date. Microsoft had to crackdown and ban 3% of all Live user they did. #xbox360update
@Nathan Obbards: Actually for Microsoft it means christmas will be great. Most hackers are smart and figure out that you just need a new Xbox. pop your old HDD into it (after a good format) and then recover your profile and your back online again. Microsoft makes money doing this banning in more ways than you think. #xbox360update
Anyone know if this actually does kill XBox 360's with the hard-drive hack(to get a 120GB hdd on the cheap)? There was some discussion about whether those would be included in the "unapproved 3rd party storage cards" but I'm curious if anyone has actually tried it. #xbox360update
@Identity less than three: I just got one from Sprint, I had gotten dirt in the volume rocker, took it into the Sprint store, and 3 days later a new Pre showed up to the house.
@jlarroulet: Well, since the last time we checked in, Palm said it could take all of two hours tops to fix whatever iTunes broke last time. I'd say the wage of a programmer or two for a couple of hours in exchange for another couple weeks of happy customers/publicity would be pretty dang profitable.
The real question is how long they can keep this up before they get investigated by some regulatory agency. Or sued by Apple. Err. Again.
@MarcusMaximus: Last time I checked, I was only able to download songs over WiFi. The way this article made it sound, you could download songs over the cell network (3G, or whatever). Has this changed? If so....I am very pleased.
@Mike Zuniga: That was Unexpected: Just like every other susidized phone.
Unless I'm mis-understanding "new contract". At Best Buy they charge a lower price for a new contract and usually higher if it's a new number added to a family plan (in wihich case, it's still a new contract for that line.
@Mike Zuniga: That was Unexpected: Sorry for the misunderstanding, but I would imagine anyone reading Giz would already be aware of the regular price of a Pre (or any other smartphone) and find it kinda odd that the phone suddenly dropped so low and not expect a commitment to be involved.

If I had a penny for every time I've been playing COD and thought "Damn it! If I could only update my status, or send out a tweet"... #xbox360update

New tactic -- unfriend your opponent and right before the kill, friend them back.
[pop-up] You have one new friend request. Would you like to see it now?
GAAAAA, kill shot. #xbox360update

Up to what point is it "profitable" to keep playing cat and mouse with apple so the latter can break the syncing almost at will?
