    I think some people have forgotten what it's like to be 13. And no body but the 13ish year olds know what it's like to be 13 in this day and age.

    That 13 (?) year old boy did pretty much any of the boys in my class would have done. The 13 year old girl did what ANY "not-so-bright" in that aspect of life 13 year old girl would do. And who's to say she wasn't just playing along because she wanted some? That being said, I'm not standing up for either of them...I'm just comparing now with "then" (when I was that age) and nothing's really changed...except the rationale of the general public.

    If the boy was older..a lot older...I'd be surprised. But this is just normal pubescent behavior. There were quite a few kids who lost their virginity around the same age, give or take a year, when I was that age.

    The only difference was there was no internet for people to flock to, to make a big deal out of everything then as there is now.

    @butternine: The difference between internet and no internet (and no cellphones) makes for a HUGE difference when it comes to who'll get to the see the tape.
    This is why this case could end up haunting the girl (especially her, but the guy as well) for years to come, so it's not really something to be taken lightly.

    Bring these young whippersnappers to justice, I say! And get off my damn lawn!

    @ZillionDollarSadist: I agree completely with your first paragraph, minus the taken lightly part. But relating to what coyote1284: P.E.T.U. said, labeling the girl and boy as sex offenders is going to hurt their futures in an excessively worse way than just treating it like it is, one of those dumb mistake every body makes at some point in their lives in one way or form.

    I just think it would be better if they were given a month's detention like kids/teens used to get. It teaches a lesson, and doesn't scar them for life. Sure people will probably give her shit for the rest of the year, but they'll put it in the back of their heads and she'll be able to continue living her life. The world's moving too fast for it to preoccupy itself with this one insignificant incident, so we'll all forget.

    If they were my kids, they'd get their cell phones/video games/computer taken away for a while and a long, stern talking to. It's just how people learn, as if the fear of becoming a sex offender wasn't enough to scare both of them from doing it again.

    Aaaand this is getting too long so I'm stopping here.

    @Yellowexample: There was this girl in my class who didn't know what side of WWII America was on. (11th grade) Another girl didnt know if we lived on the Atlantic or Pacific Ocean in Georgia. But then, I thought back really hard, and remembered two girls we had entirely convinced that Pokemon were real and only lived in Japan from our freshman year until almost the time we graduated.
