While we're on the subject of Vietnamese (and I'm being serious here)
Can anyone explain to me why that delicious Vietnamese soup has the Latin spelling of "Pho" when the actual pronunciation of the dish is more like "fua"?
It doesn't work in French either.
I've been really curious for the past six months when I realized that I've been pronouncing it wrong all my life as "Fo'" (but at least not like "po'" as I've heard some other folks do).
