No, the Army's latest baby, built by Carnegie Mellon's Robotics Engineering Center, is a robot. The Crusher navigates (and destroys) autonomously and will climb four-foot "steps" as easy as it tears up a hill. Apparently other vehicles in their Future Combat System family will take after this big bad monster truck, officially bringing the Army into the business of wrecking ass. With robots. <![CDATA[CrushBox Destroys the Evidence that You May Want to Hide]]> Last week, Adam set about crushing unwanted gadgets with such glee that I think our Japanese brethren have found the perfect present for him at CEATEC. The CrushBox will pulverize everything from cards, cellphones, CD/DVD to videotape (are you listening Paris, Meg, Eva, Pamela?)—in short, anything gadget-y or tech-y that could compromise you. There's a pic of the results below.

<![CDATA[Crusher: Autonomous War Wagon]]> Like a giant, autonomous Half-Life crate, the Crusher—and its little sister Spinner—is a rolling, intelligent battlefield delivery system. For example, the Crusher aka the UGCV PerceptOR Integrated (UPI) can wander along with a platoon and dispense rocket launchers like dangerous Pez.

It can also right itself and carry its own payload and complete its own missions. It also collects and uses terrain data for mapping environments and keeping itself on track.
