    So you mean pressing and holding the power button until my PC shuts down isn't the right way to do it??

    I kinda miss the satisfaction of watching my system reboot he instant I hit Ctr+Alt+Del. There was something very gratifying about kick-starting a locked up computer in that way. It was sort of like that scene in "Wanted: Dead or Alive" in which Rutger Hauer blows up Gene Simmons by pulling the pin on the hand-grenade he's shoved into his mouth. In a way, all pre-windows XP computers had a hand-grenade already shoved into their mouths.

    Umm, you can use CTRL SHIFT ESC with one left hand on any modern computer to open up the task manager.

    That explains the error message I once got saying the fingers I was using to log in were too fat and to mash the 10 keypad to order a "Ca-terl, Alt, Delete Wand".

    Doing a one-handed Ctrl-Alt-Del on a standard keyboard is easy. Using your right hand:

    Thumb on the right Alt key.

    Pinky on the right Ctrl key.

    Ring finger on the Del key just above the arrow keys.

    Note: this may not work if you have short, stubby, fat fingers.

    @combat chuck:
    I have long fingers, and find that I have much better luck to just reach over with the left hand:

    Pinky = R-Alt
    Thumb = R-Ctrl
    Index = arrow-key Delete

    Of course, this isn't really an option on my laptop (when I'm not at home where I keep a proper keyboard plugged into it), but only because the only Ctrl key is on the opposite corner from the only Del key.

    haha, i love the concept.

    unfortunately, it'd take longer to locate the tool than to do the "three finger salute" manually.

    Or if you only have one hand.

    Maybe someone should make a keyboard with a standalone button that combines the functionality of these three keys, provided it doesn't exist already.

    @Kaiser-Machead: Wasn't the point of choosing Ctrl-Alt-Del that you couldn't press it accidentally? A button for that would end up defeating the purpose.
