Sony Ericsson C905 is a 8.1-Megapixel Cybershot Phone?

According to the Unofficial Sony Ericsson blog, the upcoming C905 phone will be the flagship Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot phone. Here's why it's so good. There's a 8.1-megapixel camera with "auto focus, face recognition, a new feature called Smart Contrast, image stabilization, BestPic, red-eye reduction, xenon flash as well as photoflash for both photos and videos." There's also location tagging with GPS, an accelerometer, 2.4-inch QVGA display, TV-out, Wi-Fi, DLNA support, Bluetooth and USB 2.0 transfers. Yeah, sounds pretty insane. We'll see if this one turns out to be true and whether they can fit all of this tech into that small body. [Se-nse]

Sony Ericsson K630i Brings 3G To Your Camera Phone

Not only is the newest addition to Sony Ericsson's Cyber-shot line a sleek black 2-megapixel number, there's 3g HSDPA, 4GB Memory Stick Micro support (256MB included), tri-band GSM, FM radio, MP3/AAC/AAC+/eAAC+/WMA/Microsoft DRM support, Bluetooth Stereo A2DP, and MPEG4/WMV/H.264/H.263 video all in a shell with a talk time of 9 hours. The K630i is definitely not the top of the line in the K-series, but it's good enough that you can safely buy one and not feel like you're missing out on too many features (it's no MILF phone).

Sony Ericsson K818 Cyber-shot Phone Leaked by FCC

Everyone's favorite phone leaker, the FCC, has let slip a new Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot phone, the K818. Remember the K810? The K818 is it's half brother, featuring a 3.2-megapixel camera on board with zoom, auto-focus, brightness control and the BestPic shooting mode that captures a range of nine pictures. With the K810 presumably just headed to Europe, this might just be an American version that drops the videophone connectivity to keep us from hurting ourselves, as this version is missing the prominent camera on the face of the K810. Sony Ericsson K850i: High on Megapixels, Low on Fat

Sony Ericsson has been making headlines these past few weeks and the latest SE leak exposes the company's new Cyber-shot K850i. Despite the phone's buff 5-megapixel lens, the 3G phone will have a slim .5-inch waist line along with mobile broadband via UMTS. No word on storage or expandability, though from the looks of it, the phone shouldn't disappoint any SE fans. It's expected to make its debut at CeBit. More »

Sony's Big-Zoomin' H9 Cyber-shot Does 15x Optical

When it comes to close ups, Sony's new H9 will practically throw you into the action thanks to its 15x optical zoom. It's Sony's only cam (from this year's line show) to sport NightShot tech, which lets you shoot when the sun goes down. The 8MP snapper will also have a less expensive brother, the H7. Both ship in April for $480 and $400. More »

Sony's Entry-level Cybershots Exposed

The guys at AppleInsider have gotten a look at Sony's new range of Cybershot cameras, expected to debut next month at CES. The new S-series cams aren't exactly what we'd call lookers, but they should satisfy casual photographers as they'll each come with a 7.2-megapixel CCD sensor and a 3x optical zoom. AppleInsider claims the S650 will have a 2-inch LCD whereas the S700 will sport a larger 2.4-inch display. No word on pricing, though for slim point and shoot cams, I've always been a fan of Casio's Exilim cameras. More »

Recalls: Defects with Cyber-Shot Cameras, Sony Digs Itself Deeper

Sony announced today that there are a number of defects with their line of Cyber-Shot digital cameras. These problems could cause the LCD to display incorrectly or not at all, and also could prevent the camera from working entirely. These problems will only occur in warm and humid areas. So if you are using a Cyber-Shot in Antarctica, you should be okay. More »

Sony DSC-N2 Cyber-shot With 3-Inch Touch Screen

In our haste to bring news of the Sony DSC-T50 Cyber-shot, we failed to mention the Cyber-shot DSC-N2, a 10-megapixel digital camera with a 3-inch touch screen display. The camera makes use of Sony's Clear Photo Plus LCD technology that supposedly enables higher resolutions, higher contrast and improved viewing angles. It also has 25MB of internal memory, which might as well be 0MB given that 10-megapixel pictures take up a hefty amount of memory. That's where the "optional media card" jumps in to save the day. Sony Births Cyber-Shot H5 and T30

Sony DSC-T30 Aims to Reduce Blurred Pics

Sony adds to its T-series of Cyber-shot cameras with the 7.2 megapixel DSC-T30, a digital camera that uses "double anti-blur protection" to avoid pictures that look like they were taken underwater. To sharpen up those shaky shots, Sony's Super Steady Shot optical image stabilization teams up with a high sensitivity mode (ISO 1000) that allows for faster shutter speeds. To reduce the inevitable image artifacts introduced by that high ISO number, Sony has applied its Clear RAW noise reduction system. More »

Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W50 and DSC-W30

Sony has released two low-cost 6-megapixel cameras, each with a 3x Zeiss optical zoom lens. The DSC-W50 (pictured above) is differentiated from the DSC-W30 by its 2 1/2 inch viewfinder, where the DSC-30 has a 2-inch finder. Available in both silver and black, these two still cameras are uncommonly thin, at 2/3 of an inch thick. Sony says these two diminutive shooters have a more hospitable user interface, where the icons are accompanied with a text-based explanation on the LCD screen. The DSC-W30 will be available first, shipping this month for $230, with the DSC-W50 shipping a little later, available in early March for $250. More »
