• It can run for "approximately" 100 hours without needing a recharge.
• It can record directly from music source to SD card when docked.
• It has built-in "noise killer" active noise canceling, so that, according to the loosely translated release, "the noise of the train is cut 83 percent at the touch of a button." [Press Release via Akihabara News]

<![CDATA[Bluetooth D-Snap Player from Panasonic]]> The new D-Snap SV-SD950N from Panasonic is Bluetooth-enabled, so can pair with your phone and control some call functions. It has an SD slot, but only comes bundled with a rather stingy 1GB card. Battery life is good, at an estimated 60 hours, but is a drop from the previous D-Snap models without Bluetooth.

It can be recharged with either an optional dock or over USB, and will be available in September in either silver or black for somewhere around 25,000 Yen ($219). [AV Watch]

<![CDATA[Panasonic D-Snap: Noise-Canceling Digital Audio Player]]> Panasonic announced D-Snap, a noise-canceling digital audio player that lets you listen to high-quality sound without having to overcome ambient noise levels with high volume. Music is stored on a removable SD card rather than a hard disc or internal flash memory, probably a good decision given the plummeting prices of SD memory.

Panasonic plans a variety of accessories to go along with the D-Snap, which is shown conveniently docking into the company's upcoming D-Dock SD stereo system. Available in two models, the SD800N will be available in purple or gray, and the SD400V comes in pink, aqua, white, and yellow. The SD800N is set to ship in Japan on September 9, with no word on US availability yet.

<![CDATA[Panasonic D-Snap and D-Dock Video]]>
The Panasonic D-Snap and D-Dock are a music player and a dock, respectively. The D-Snap is a flash-based affair, which fits into the D-Dock, that in turn has a 80GB or a 160GB hard drive. The video is of their press conference where they announced it. Head to Akihabara for the vid.

<![CDATA[Panasonic Releases Four D-Snaps and a Couple of Micro Stereos]]> Panasonic recently announced a couple of micro stereo systems as well as four audio players that work with each other via the SD memory card format. The two micro stereo systems are equipped with hard drives of 80GB (SC-SX800) and 40GB (SC-SX400) capacities respectively, and are supposedly the world's first CD and FM/AM audio players with hard drives and SD card slots. Each stereo system has a large LCD with QVGA quality that can show up to 7 lines of audio info. The idea here is that you can rip songs from a CD right to the hard drive, and then copy them to the SD card for use with one of the four audio players, all without a computer.

As for the four audio players, they are a new part of Panasonic's D-Snap line (Which is incidentally one of the dumber names out there. "D-Snap"? Sounds like someone in marketing is trying too hard to reach out to the kiddies). They are the SV-SD750V, SV-SD700, SVSD350V, and the SV-SD300. All are equipped with Panasonic's D sound Engine LSI, which uses some audio tech mumbo jumbo to make the audio sound as close to the original as possible. Both the SD750V and the SD700 come with double-drive in-ear earphones which have two drivers for low to high-range frequencies. They have FM tuners, and can receive, record, and playback radio. The SD750 and the SD350 also have voice recording functions.

No word on pricing so far, but apparently all units will be released in Japan come November 19.
