    Well, there are a couple different connections possible with the dock connector. The newer cables form Apple just slip in/slip out.


    Older dock cables had little teeth in it that would 'lock' it in place.


    I still wouldn't trust it to handle swinging.

    @aybara: Snapping off is one (more likely) issue, but another is potential damage to the docking port. It's not meant to constantly support the weight of the device, so it's possible that, after a while, the connection of the dock to the mainboard can be damaged.

    the video is just plain uncomfortable.

    at 40 seconds in i physically cringed.


    but after all, why not?

    why not create a product that takes the port responsible for charging and syncing the device, and use it to support its weight?


    honestly, i think duct tape and a shoelace could be used to make a much safer product..
