Capturing the futility of technology in the face of superheroics, Superman doesn't have time to waste while Lois messes around with the microwave. What the picture does not show, however, is the less charming, more grotesque result of the morning that Lois "took too long" shaving her legs. Needless to say, she's a pants-wearer now and Superman will be heating dinner for one for many years to come. [Threadless]

<![CDATA[Simpsonized Superheroes Break All Our Fetishmeters]]> A cruel, very talented man named Dean T. Fraser has decided that our Simpsons, Batman, Iron Man, Spiderman, Halo, and miscellaneous superheroes, supervillain, and sci-fi fetishes weren't enough on their own, so he Simpsonized them all. Now, if anyone makes any of the characters in this amazing gallery out of Lego, I will spontaneously self-combust in a fiery ball of nerdgasmic lust.

We want a "DC vs Marvel: the Springfield Wars" miniseries now. [Springfield Punx, Thanks Oscar]

<![CDATA[Sprint's XOHM WiMax Service Launching Soon?]]> According to Phone Scoop, residents of Chicago, Baltimore and DC will be able to get online via Sprint's XOHM WiMax initiative some time in the next few days. It's going to be a soft launch, with not too much promotion, with an official wide launch in the second quarter of 2008. Chicago and Baltimore are going to be able to get laptops and cellphones equipped with WiMax, and DC residents will be able to get WiMax on their guns and narcotics. [Phonescoop]

<![CDATA[One Click Power Neutralizes Scum-Sucking Wall Warts While You Sleep]]> The One Click Power Strip's black socket is for your PC, and all your other peripherals plug into the other outlets. When you turn on your computer, this clever power strip senses that and turns on all the other outlets.

It's an efficient way to save energy from those power-sucking wall warts, trickling veritable kilowatts down the drain while you sleep. If only we'd wire up our houses for DC, none of those bulky bricks would even be necessary. Nice try, Mr. Edison.

This model is set up for use in the UK, but we're thinking this is such a painless energy saver that someone might want to bring this idea to these shores. While you're at it, make it cost less than $60.

<![CDATA[ShotSpotter Squeals on Criminals, Notifies Cops]]> Criminals in D.C. should think twice before unloading their gat on someone. The ShotSpotter is a tiny sensor that's been hidden throughout D.C. listening for gunshots and notifying 5-0 the second it hears them. The sensors are pretty small and can detect gunfire up to 2 miles away pinpointing where the shots were fired. They can even distinguish between gunshots and similar sounds like firecrackers. Cool idea, though we'd still prefer to see some bazooka-carrying robo vigilante.

<![CDATA[Grad Student Creates Micro Windmill]]> N. Satyanarayana, a graduate student in India, has figured out a way to miniaturize a windmill so it can be used to charge a cellphone battery. It is a simple fan blade that is attached to a generator, also it's waterproof so it can even be used in the rain. Imagine clipping one of these babies outside the window as you take the train into work, charging up your cellphone and other electronic devices you might have on hand. Its small blade cranks out a DC flow of one ampere with a potential difference of 12 volts, in other words, enough juice to power portable electronic stuff. It beats solar, as long as the wind s blowing.
